Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shillong, reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment through vocational training by recognizing an outstanding trainee with a meaningful gesture of support. At a recent ceremony held at the Centre, Director Fr. Michael Makri  awarded a sewing machine to Ms. Sinora Khongshei, a graduate of the tailoring and embroidery program. The recognition celebrates her exemplary performance, resilience, and readiness to pursue a sustainable livelihood using the skills she has acquired. As one of the region’s foremost institutions in youth skill development, Don Bosco Youth Centre continues to champion practical training as a pathway to economic independence and personal growth.

Don Bosco Chinchwad reached a historic milestone with the blessing of a newly installed CNC Machine and the inauguration of its first-ever Advanced Fitter Course, a three-month program made possible through the sponsorship of KSB.

A three-month tailoring course under the banner TIGRESS has successfully equipped seven women with essential dressmaking skills while fostering a strong sense of solidarity and self-worth. The initiative, jointly organized by the Salesian Co-operators and Don Bosco Veedu, concluded with a certificate ceremony that celebrated both skill development and community empowerment.

St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, a Don Bosco Institution, has brought glory to Tripura by securing the Second Prize in the Brass Band Boys' Category at the prestigious National Level School Band Competition held at Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, on 24 and 25 January. It is the second time St. Xavier's School has achieved accolades in this prestigious competition, marking a proud moment in its history.

Don Bosco Tech Exhibition – 2023 and Skill Competitions were organized at Don Bosco ITI, AMSAM, N.Kuttapattu, Trichy, on March 2, 2023, to improve the practical skills in each trade. Students displayed their projects in an exhibition.

With unemployment among the educated youth on a steady rise, the Apprenticeship Mela (Job Fair) conducted by Don Bosco Technical Institute, Park Circus, on February 13, 2023, at the request of the Directorate of Industrial Training, Government of West Bengal, was an opportunity for almost 300 participants.

To provide quality education to the students of the government schools, the Nepal Don Bosco Society (NDBS) organized a Teacher Training Programme at Manthali, a prominent central city, about 170 Km away from Kathmandu from February 24, 2022. The training lasted for three days for 31 teachers from ten schools.

A job fair organized by the Don Bosco Job Placement Network India of the Salesians of Don Bosco in collaboration with Nirmala College for Women on December 18, 2021, was attended by 1200 young people. The young had the opportunity to get selected to 36 companies at the fair in Coimbatore. The job fair was inaugurated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore, Mr Vincent, with Lijo Chungath, Managing Director of Pavizham Jewellers.

Bosconet India has organized one-day orientation programmes across India for Civil Society Organizations (CSO`s) to promote awareness and assist the weaker sections of society, to avail their entitlements and welfare schemes in the last two months. The sessions were for selected `Training of Trainers (TOTs) and CSOs in the following cities: Chennai and Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, Aurangabad, Maharashtra and Delhi and Goa.

Students in Kerala went back to school on 1st November after a long spell of Covid-19 lockdown. Students of Don Bosco School in Puthuppally, near Kottayam in Kerala, were in for a surprise and thrilled at what they saw in school.

To enhance the competence of teachers and produce positive progress on pupil`s empowerment and academic achievement, a six-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was organized, for the Instructors of Ten Don Bosco Technical Institutes from May 31, 2021, to June 5, 2021.

Chawan Matey, a Bosco Bible School past pupil, won the Integrated Youth Development Centre (IYDC) Don Bosco Mobile Photography Contest, held in April 2021, on the theme, ``The World Through My Window``. Matey won a cash prize of 5000, organized by the IYDC Kochi.

Salesian College Sonada held a day-long training program for the Office and Support Staff of Siliguri and Sonada Campuses. About 30 plus office and support staff participated in the first-ever such program held in Salesian College.

Sonada, 21 February 2021: In a first time effort in the hills, academia-industry partnership initiative to empower tea garden women was launched on 21 February 2021. Salesian College Sonada established in 1938 and the Tea Promoters India who own plantations in Darjeeling, Dooars, Assam and Kerala have launched a pilot project entitled: Women Empowerment in Tea Communities Workshop, to be spread out on five Sundays from 21 February to 21 March 2021.

Mumbai, 9 September 2020 -- Youth workers in Mumbai have come up with on-line youth centres connecting marginalised children not only in their neighbourhood but also from Don Bosco institutions across India with no extra cost.

Some 1,000 children across India (Mumbai, Pune, UP, MP, Bihar and Jharkhand) are enrolled and counting in the e-Oratory today.
