Its focus spans education, technical training, social development, and youth pastoral ministry, with a priority on serving the poorest and most abandoned young people. Through assemblies SPCSA coordinates governance and strategy, while managing various networks such as DBYA (youth animation), DB Tech (skilling), BOSCOM (communication), YaR (youth at risk), and the Salesian Psychological Association (SPA), ensuring holistic development across the region.
BOSCOM South Asia brought together members of the Salesian Family across the region for LUMINATA 2026, an online gathering that reflected on the theme of the 60th World Day of Social Communications proposed by Pope Leo XIV: “Preserving Human Voices and Faces – To be or to pretend to be.” The event featured around 90 delegates, including Provincial Delegates of Social Communication, BOSCOM members, and media practitioners.

Happy Feast of St Joseph! Don Bosco entrusted us in a special way to the patronage of St Joseph (cf. Constitutions no. 9). Every Salesian, in his profession formula, entrusts his perseverance to his intercession (cf. Constitutions no. 24).
The 26th Assembly of the Salesian Provincials Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) commenced on March 2 at the Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati, bringing together 45 participants for a two-day deliberation on leadership, mission, and youth ministry. The inaugural session was held in the presence of Fr Biju Michael, President of SPCSA and Regional Councillor for South Asia, and Fr Rafael Bejarano, General Councillor for Youth Ministry from Rome.
Delegates at the BOSCOM General Body Meeting 2026 emphasised the need for a renewed, value-driven presence in the digital sphere, affirming that Don Bosco would be an influencer among the young if he were alive today, using digital platforms to inspire hope and build relationships.
Communication is not merely about producing content but about fostering communion, said Fr Fidel Maria, General Councillor for Social Communication of the Salesian Congregation, while addressing the South Asia BOSCOM General Body Meeting 2026 held at Siloam in the Shillong Province.
In a significant step toward strengthening international vocational collaboration, the Don Bosco Centre for Learning (DBCL), Kurla, hosted the signing of a landmark trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 12, 2026. The agreement brings together the Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (DBITI), Kurla, Germany’s Handwerkskammer (HWK) Region Stuttgart, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, marking a new chapter in development-oriented skilled migration and industry-aligned training.
The SPCI House, New Delhi, had the distinct honour of welcoming the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard, on the evening of 10 February. His visit marked a significant moment of grace and animation for the Salesian community and the various regional networks operating from the Secretariat of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA).
The Don Bosco Job Placement Network (DB JPN) hosted the DB HR Summit Guwahati 2025 at Bosco Reach Out (BRO), Ulubari, bringing together employers, industry professionals, labour officials, and placement coordinators to strengthen partnerships that enhance youth employability across the Northeast and beyond.
Aiming to help young learners make informed career choices, Don Bosco’s Konkan Development Society – Career Guidance and Placement Services, in collaboration with MLA Reginaldo Lourenco, organized a three-hour Career Guidance Workshop at the Village Panchayat Hall, Curtorim, Goa, on October 29, 2025. The event drew 100 participants, including 70 students from Classes 8 to 12 and 30 parents, highlighting the vital role of family support in shaping career decisions.
The Panjim Province Job Placement Team organized a career guidance session at Navsarni Catholic Centre, Sawantwadi, reaching out to 230 students from 10 schools across Konkan and Maharashtra. The programme introduced students to the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN) and helped them explore career pathways aligned with their interests and strengths.
The Salesian Province of Mumbai formally welcomed Fr. Ashley Miranda as its 12th Provincial during a solemn Eucharistic celebration at the Shrine of Don Bosco’s Madonna, Matunga, on September 8. The installation ceremony, marked by gratitude and renewed commitment, drew together Salesians, collaborators, and members of the Salesian family.
Salesian College Autonomous, Sonada, opened its doors on August 19 to delegates from twelve Salesian provinces of South Asia for the annual BOSCOM Executive Meet, running through August 21. Themed “Artificial Intelligence in the Salesian Mission,” the three-day gathering sets the stage for reflection, dialogue, and strategic planning on the role of AI in education, communication, and pastoral ministry.
“Just as the people were told to Go to Joseph in the Old Testament, the youth of today should be encouraged to Go to the Salesians,” declared Fr. Savio Silveira, Provincial of Mumbai, during his homily on the second day of the SPCSA Assembly at Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bangalore.
