The Second South Asia Regional Council of the Salesian Family in Provincial House–Nitika Complex, Kolkata (Sept 10–13, 2026) concluded with a renewed call to communion, collaboration, and shared responsibility, highlighting youth and lay participation as co-responsible partners in Don Bosco’s mission. The gathering brought together 45 delegates, including Regional and Provincial Delegates of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), and representatives of affiliated congregations and lay associations.
Forty-one educators from schools and colleges across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and South Odisha took part in a three-day workshop on “Participatory Models of Education” at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, from August 27 to 29.
The Northeast Zone Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF) 2026 brought together 81 young representatives from the Salesian Provinces of Dimapur (IND), Guwahati (ING) and Shillong (INS) at Siloam from August 21 to 23. The three-day programme focused on Salesian formation, leadership, spirituality and youth animation.
The Salesian Province of St Francis de Sales, Dimapur, conducted a two-day Training of Administrators on August 18 and 19 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, focusing on financial management, statutory compliance, professionalism and technology-enabled administration.

The Salesian Province of St Joseph (INH) launched the Friends of Don Bosco (FDB) on the 211th anniversary of the birth of St John Bosco, bringing together former Salesians who wish to remain connected with the Salesian Family and contribute to its mission among young people.
The Association of Salesian Co-operators (ASC), Shillong Province, elected Mr Manoj Jamatia as Regional Coordinator and Mr Raju Lal Deb Barma as Vice Coordinator for a three-year term at its Annual Regional Congress on Sunday at Mary Help of Christians Parish, Don Bosco School, Mandwi. The congress also brought together promised Co-operators, Aspirants, and Salesian animators for prayer, formation, and leadership renewal.
The induction of 17 new Salesian Cooperators was the highlight of the Provincial Congress of the Salesian Cooperators of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, adding a special dimension to the celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) held at Auxilium Convent, Kokrajhar, on July 25–26.
The Don Bosco Past Pupils Indian National Federation (DBPPINF) concluded its two-day National Council Meeting (NCM) at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Trichy, on July 12, bringing together national leaders and provincial representatives from across the country to strengthen the federation's governance, strategic vision, and national collaboration.
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Khoupum, won the Best Patrol Award in both the Scouts and Guides categories at the 16th Bharat Scouts & Guides District Summer Testing Camp 2026, highlighting its focus on leadership, discipline, and holistic education.
First-year philosophy students of Salesian College, Dimapur, completed a two-week Skill Development Programme at AIDA, gaining practical skills for youth empowerment and social development. The programme trained students to become effective agents of positive change among youth and marginalised communities.
DON BOSCO SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, Doomdooma, Upper Assam, marked World Environment Day 2026 with a large-scale environmental awareness campaign. The event included a tree plantation drive that united 3,008 students, 94 teachers, and members of the Past Pupils Association of Doomdooma. Together, they promoted ecological responsibility.
The Salesian Family Superiors’ Meet was held at the Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli, Guwahati, on 6 March, bringing together leaders of various Salesian Family groups from across India and South Asia for a day of prayer, reflection, and collaboration.
The Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, hosted a grace-filled and intellectually stimulating Two-Day Workshop on Salesian Pedagogy titled “Educating with the Heart of Don Bosco: A Journey into Salesian Pedagogy” at the Provincial House, Panbazar. The programme brought together members of the Salesian Family, clerics, sisters, and teachers, united by a common desire to rediscover and renew the educational spirit of Don Bosco.
