More than 90 young people from parishes across the Itanagar Diocese participated in the Annual Youth Retreat organised by the Catholic Youth Association of the Itanagar Deanery from July 17 to 19 at Holy Trinity Church, Banderdewa.

Christodayam, the Catechetical Department of the Salesian Province of Trichy, in collaboration with Don Bosco Aid, Ireland, organised a three-day Catechists Certificate Course, Emmaus Retreat, at Shenbaganur, Kodaikanal, from July 17 to 19. The programme brought together 28 catechism teachers and young people from the Madurai Zone as part of the province's New Evangelisation initiative.

Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS), Mumbai, launched “Soul Algorithm,” a new online talk show linking Catholic wisdom with the digital realities shaping young people's lives. The programme premiered on Sunday, July 19, at 9:15 p.m.

A two-day youth camp organised by the Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC), Tigdo, Yupia, brought together 64 young men and women from the local Catholic community on July 11–12 to deepen faith and nurture Christian leadership.

The Salesian Catechetical Centre, Pune, conducted a two-day Catechists' Basic Training Course (CTBT) on June 27–28. The programme equipped 70 catechists from parishes across the Poona Diocese with the spiritual, theological and practical foundations required for catechetical ministry.

Dr Fr. Gilbert Choondal, SDB, was honoured by the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, on 3 May. He received the honour from the President of the CCBI, Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, who felicitated him with a shawl and a copy of the updated edition of the National Catechetical Directory, for which Fr. Gilbert served as Chief Coordinator of the drafting committee.

The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), in collaboration with the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) and the Diocese of Rayagada, organised Youth Fest 2026 at Navanirman Don Bosco, Muniguda, from March 26 to 27, bringing together more than 900 young people from across the diocese.

The campus of Don Bosco College, Byndihati, was transformed into a sanctuary of prayer and reflection from 20th March to 22nd March, during its Annual Spiritual Retreat. Guided by the scriptural theme, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2), the event attracted 280 young people, from the college and the neighbouring villages, eager to deepen their faith. The retreat was animated by the dynamic leadership of Mr. Naveen Lobo from Mysore and the Jesus Youth team from Shillong, who together fostered an environment of high-energy worship and profound contemplation.

A total of 187 students from nine Don Bosco educational institutions of the Salesian Province of Panjim-Konkan, spanning three dioceses, gathered at the Don Bosco Oratory on February 13 for the Province Catechetical Day. Centred on the theme “Shine with Faith, Rise with Hope,” the day offered teenage participants a rich blend of prayer, reflection, joy, and fellowship.

The 29th General Body Meeting of the Indian Catechetical Association (ICA) was held at Samanvaya Theology Centre, Bhopal, from February 11 to 13, bringing together 61 participants comprising priests, religious, seminarians, and lay representatives from across the country. The three-day assembly reflected on the theme “Catechesis in the Age of Social Media and AI,” engaging participants in scholarly dialogue and practical exploration of one of the most pressing pastoral challenges of the present time.

Fr. Dr. Josekutty Thomas, SDB, a Salesian priest of the Province of Dimapur, was honoured with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) National-Level Award 2026 for his outstanding contribution to biblical scholarship and digital evangelization. The award was jointly conferred on Fr. Josekutty and Dr. Thomson Philip Vadakeyil of Eloit Innovations, India, for their collaborative work in developing and promoting the BibleOn mobile application and website.

The Don Bosco Youth Paschers organised a Taizé Prayer Service on February 8 at the Don Bosco Animation Centre, Benaulim, creating a serene space of worship, silence, and reflection for nearly 50 participants from diverse age groups. Open to all, the two-hour prayer experience invited the faithful to pause from daily routines and encounter God through simplicity, stillness, and communal prayer.

The Chennai Salesian Province celebrated Faith Fiesta (Maraikalvi Naal) 2025–26, a vibrant children’s convention organized by Deepagam, the Don Bosco Catechetical Center for Faith Formation and Value Education, at St. Bede’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School. The day-long programme brought together nearly 1,000 children from the four regions of the Province—Tirupattur, Pondicherry, Vellore, and Chennai—for prayer, learning, creativity, and fellowship.
