Bible Camp Brings Young People at Mary Immaculate Parish
The Bible Camp for Children 2024, themed Hello Jesus, concluded successfully at Mary Immaculate Parish, Chingmeirong, Manipur, after a four-day event held from October 10 to 13. The camp attracted 517 students and 55 volunteers across the parish and surrounding areas, offering a unique blend of spiritual learning and interactive activities. The sessions covered topics such as the significance of the Bible in modern times, the sacredness of Scripture, the Catholic Church’s teachings, and the universal call to sainthood.
The camp offered much more than religious instruction. Children were divided into six groups—Jerusalem, Jericho, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee, and Cana—and participated in various fun-filled activities, including music, singing, and games. Each group received colourful caps, T-shirts with the camp logo, and a diary and pen. The organizers aimed to foster a deep love for the Bible and Jesus Christ in the children. It also provided a platform for children to meet new friends and enhance their understanding of the Christian faith.
The event concluded on October 13 with a joyous Holy Eucharist celebrated by Archbishop Rev. Dr. Linus Neli, DD, of the Archdiocese of Imphal. The final day saw both residential and non-residential children and youth attending in traditional attire, creating a vibrant and memorable closing ceremony that was filled with joy and celebration.
A special acknowledgment was given to the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. KS Joseph (SDB), for his leadership in organizing the event, alongside a dedicated team of priests, sisters, and volunteers from the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), Catholic Youth Federation (CYF), and Jesus Youth. Their selfless contributions were instrumental in the success of the camp, and their collective efforts ensured the smooth operation of the camp.
The sessions were led by experts including Mr. KC Daisinlung Anselm, Sr. Regina Mareem (MSMHC), Fr. Paul Ngaoulouni, Sr. Flevis Katini (CMC), Fr. Elow Lawrence (SDB), Sr. Agnes Sekhrisiirou (MSMHC), Sr. Adaphro (FMA), Mr. Napoleon (DFO), Mr. Savio Daimei (SDO), Sr. Blessy (CMC), Sr. Leena Moyon (MSMHC), and Fr. Hans Igness (SDB).
