These events foster collaboration among youth leaders, strengthen their identity as part of a global Salesian family, and encourage them to take active roles in shaping pastoral initiatives. By focusing on SYM, the Salesians ensure that youth groups are not just extracurricular activities but dynamic communities where young people grow in faith, leadership, and solidarity—living out Don Bosco’s vision of forming “good Christians and upright citizens.”
The Summer Time Youth Ministry (STYM) 2026 of the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, concluded on July 28 with an evaluation and thanksgiving session at the Provincial House, Panbazar, after a month-long outreach that engaged nearly 1,400 young people across 10 centres.

The Don Bosco Youth Animation-South Asia (DBYA-SA) conducted a dynamic two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) programme on Youth Ministry at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Shillong, on September 19–20. In an inspiring step towards shaping the leaders of tomorrow, Salesian College Sonada, in collaboration with Project Missio, hosted a Youth Leadership Animation Programme themed “Leaders in the Digital World” on July 20. The event brought together around 70 enthusiastic young participants from 26 youth centres across the region.
After a nearly eight-year gap, the Summer Time Youth Ministry (STYM) programme was revived with renewed vigour at Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli. The month-long initiative, inaugurated on July 1, aims to equip clerics in theological formation with hands-on experience in youth animation before they are sent to various Salesian centres to guide and accompany young people.
On the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the streets of Trivandrum came alive with colour, conviction, and creativity as children from Don Bosco Veedu’s AWAKE (Applied Women Advancement and Knowledge Enhancement) Project led a spirited campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
Over 50 youth leaders, including diocesan directors, religious youth animators, and representatives of various Catholic youth groups, gathered at the Don Bosco Provincial House in Hyderabad on June 12 for an animation hosted and animated by Salesians and organized by the Telugu Catholic Youth Movement under the aegis of the TCBC Commission for Youth.
The Chennai Province (INM) ‘Young at Risk Day’ was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Don Bosco Beatitudes, Vyasarpadi, bringing together 296 participants from various organizations dedicated to the welfare of vulnerable children. Representatives from Don Bosco Anbu Illam (Chennai & Kavarapettai), Don Bosco Beatitudes (Vyasarpadi), ANBAGAM – Pope John’s Garden, ANAT Farm, WeLive Foundation (Chennai), St. Thomas Orphanage by SMA Kakkanjinagar, and Marialaya (Chennai & Pothur) joined hands to mark the occasion.
