The Salesian Psychological Association (SPA) India is offering a unique opportunity for priests, religious sisters, and brothers to deepen their understanding of sexuality and integrate it into their celibate lifestyles. This five-day residential workshop, scheduled to begin on 15 November 2024, will take place at Ashir Bhavan, Ernakulam, Cochin, Kerala. The event will address contemporary issues related to sexual boundaries, intimacy, celibacy, and psychological maturity.

A two-day International Workshop on “Mobile and Pornography Addictions in the New Digital World” was successfully organized by the Salesian Psychological Association (SPA) at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore, on August 10-11. The event attracted significant participation, with 65 attendees comprising psychologists, counsellors, principals, teachers, social workers, and research scholars from across India.

20th Anniversary Celebrations of Sumedha Centre

The 20th anniversary of the inauguration and blessing of Sumedha Centre, a place for the psycho-spiritual journey, was celebrated on March 19, the feast day of St. Joseph, Patron of the Centre. 

Sumedha Centre was set up and inaugurated at Don Bosco specialized Training Centre, Don Bosco Provincial House, New Delhi, on March 19, 2003. In March 2009, the centre shifted its operations to Jeolikote, Uttarakhand, in the diocese of Bareilly. On March 19, 2022, the centre was again moved to the current location at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School premises at Jharmari, Punjab.

The video-series starting today 05 September, and to be aired on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month, on the MumbaiSalesians` Youtube Channel, are broken up into short 10-minute interactive inputs describing the symptoms of learning and related difficulties; the formal and informal ways of assessing these difficulties; the types of beneficial interventions possible and the government-endorsed concessions across India. This is a Teachers` Day gift from the famed clinical psychologist, as an appreciation to teachers all over, who mould, nourish, nurture, inspire, motivate, enlighten and mentor students on a daily basis.

In Mumbai City - Matunga, Wadala, Andheri and Nerul - MumbaiSalesians are ensuring that the necessary daily basic requirements of the most poor, especially of those residing in the slum pockets of Mumbai are being addressed, in their battle for survival against the Covid-19.

Prafulta DARE - 1st Time in India

MumbaiSalesians` Prafulta co-partnered with DARE (Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience), a groundbreaking somatic attachment training created by Diane Poole Heller and facilitated by Patricia Meadows MS, RN, RCST, SEP - somatic experiencing practitioner and a holistic trauma therapist with over 40 years` experience facilitating healing and transformation. Modules 01 and 02 of the 04-module training for psychotherapists, trauma therapists and somatic therapists was held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Matunga-Mumbai from 28 January to 02 February 2020. Introduced in India for the 1st time by Prafulta, there were 23 participants, including 06 Assistants with Patricia Meadows, who hails from West Virginia-USA, and has trained and assisted extensively with Diane Poole Heller, the creator of DARe, before becoming a DARe faculty member.

NEW DELHI: BOSCO (Bosco Organisation for Social Concern and Operation), New Delhi has won the Pascual Chavez Award for Innovative Ministry, after having been short listed along with 3 other out reach ministry expressions of the Salesian Family for the year 2013. The award was conferred on 28 May 2014 at Yercaud, Salem, on BOSCO, a refugee assistance programme in operation in the Indian Capital New Delhi. The award which consists of a citation and monetary token of appreciation was handed over to Fr. Jose Mathew, Director of BOSCO by Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the Regional Councillor of the Salesians for South Asia. The ceremony took place in the presence of over 40 Salesians who had gathered together for the annual general assembly of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) at ``The Retreat``, Yercaud, Salem.
