The St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat, a Don Bosco Institution, lifted the boys' brass band category Champion's Trophy at the State Level Inter-School Band Competition, organized by the School Education Department, Government of Tripura, held on December 6 at Khudiram Government Higher Secondary School, Agartala, Tripura. Nine boys' teams from various schools across Tripura participated, while two competed in the girls' category.

A student delegate from Don Bosco School Park Circus, Kolkata, who attended COP29 held in Baku, Azerbaijan, was declared a Climate Ambassador by the United Nations Agency for Development and Peace (UNADAP).

The India International Innovation and Invention Expo 2024 (INEX 2024), organized by the Indian Innovators Association in collaboration with IBS Global, Poland, under the esteemed patronage of the Goa State Innovation Council and supported by various Ministries, Industry Associations, and premier Indian Research and Development Institutes, was held at Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, Goa, India, on November 14.

Since 1974, Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan, Palluruthy, in collaboration with the Cochin Corporation, has been actively striving towards the welfare of the youth and the eradication of atrocities against children in society. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of this noble cause, the community organized a celebration on November 9, attended by notable personalities.

Youth Involve (YI), an initiative of Bosco Institute Jorhat, celebrated its 10th anniversary alongside the bicentennial of Don Bosco's dream from September 17–19 at Siloam, Umiam. Twenty-six young social entrepreneurs, leading as many social projects and initiatives from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, and Nagaland, and their Salesian and lay mentors and coaches came together for three days of sharing experiences and insights, and learning from successes, failures, distractions and challenges through presentations, exhibitions, conversations, reflections, and group activities. They were welcomed by Fr. George Palamattam SDB, the founder of Siloam.

Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts (DBICA), Chennai, has been making significant contributions in the media domain in the last quarter century and more. As it continues to march forward another milestone has been created through a short documentary film titled BENO ZEPHINE released on Thursday, 27th June.

In a post-Covid outreach programme to connect with the local community, Radio Salesian journalists reached one of the far-flung tea gardens in Mirik Sub-Division, Murmah Tea Estate. Radio Salesian RJ team Wang, Garima, Bandana and Pratap with Senior RJs Moses, Rejina and Programme Co-ordinator RJ Samir visited Murmah Tea Estate on March 5, 2022.

Salesian Brother Sushanto Biswas, who never tired of sharing the good news with people of all religions, died on February 25, 2022, at 3.40 pm at Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Kolkata, due to cardiac arrest. He was 76.

The Salesian Province of Jesus the Good Shepherd, New Delhi, celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its Foundation (1997-2022) on February 19, 2022. A thanksgiving Holy Eucharist presided over by His Excellency, Leopoldo Girelli, the Apostolic Nuncio to India, celebrated the story of dreams, struggles and indomitable spirit of the Province in the past twenty-five years.

The Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF), the world`s first Global Salesian film festival, was conducted on the premises of the Salesian headquarters of the Province of Chennai by the Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts (DBICA) and Don Bosco Arts and Science College on December 11, 2021. Although the festival was scheduled for mid-November, the unexpected heavy rains in Chennai postponed the event to December with the same glory as planned earlier. Veteran film editor and National Film Award winner, B. Lenin, presided over the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest and Father Amirthraj Arokiam, SDB, writer, editor and publisher, as the guest of honour.

Social activist and writer Jesuit Fr Cedric Prakash based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat state, received the Indian Catholic Press Association`s (ICPA) prestigious Fr. Louis Carenno Award on 1st December 2021.

A rural mission village in Darjeeling Hills hosted a two-hour open-air concert in memory of mission founder Father Luigi Jellici featuring orchestra pieces and cultural dances on November 28, 2021. Dhajea Busty mission, which hosted the event, was started in the 1990s by Father Jellici, the founder of Don Bosco Mirik mission in 1995.

The St. Joseph`s Socio-Cultural Organization (SSCO) at Laitkor Parish unveiled the bust of late Father Dr Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh, SDB, on the parish premises on November 6. Fr Sngi, a renowned Khasi priest, breathed his last on May 28, 2016. A known exorcist, missionary, author, and political and social thinker, Fr Sngi was born on January 3, 1921, in the Ri Bhoi district.
