The Don Bosco Way: With the Youth, to Eradicate Poverty: Reduction of Multidimensional Poverty in South Asia.
Father Francis Bosco SDB, National Director of the Salesian Migrant Desk, addressed 49 head and village catechists at a three-day training for the Diphu diocese held at Mary Help of Christians Church, Satgaon, West Karbi Anglong, Assam. Organized by the Salesian parish on October 27, the event aimed to educate local church leaders on pressing migrant issues affecting the region. Father Albert Thyrniang, parish priest at Satgaon, presented his extensive survey of 1,596 migrant workers, shedding light on the socio-economic factors driving North East youth to seek employment in urban centers.
A meeting of priests, religious, and lay leaders of neighbouring areas in Bengtol Parish on October 19 resulted in a collaborative effort to support the region's growing migrant-worker population. The meeting, which featured a presentation by Fr. Francis Bosco SDB, National Director of Don Bosco Migrant Services of South Asia, highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive and effective support systems for these vulnerable individuals.

This impressive feat is achieved through the combined efforts of Don Bosco’s formal ITIs and short-term courses offered by DB Tech. To strengthen and advance this mission, the leaders from technical centers across India gathered in Mumbai for a summit from Sept 27-30th for an intense study, reflection, and strategic planning. A total of 33 participants, including 27 ITI principals and several institutional heads, attended the event.

The Executive Director Father George Mathew and the Rector of the SPCI House Father Joseph Manipadath, along with members of the national team, received the award on behalf of the Don Bosco Tech Society.
Don Bosco Tech Society and RHI Magnesita India have launched the Youth Empowerment Programme to provide vocational skills to young individuals who are not engaged in education, employment, or training (NEET) and belong to disadvantaged backgrounds. The programme will also focus on empowering women in various professions, breaking down traditional barriers and providing them with equal opportunities.

On September 17, from various Don Bosco Industrial Training Institutes (ITI), 1665 students graduated, thus empowering India's youth in vocational education and skill development. George Mathew, the Executive Director of Don Bosco Tech Society, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), an esteemed body recognized by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET). This collaboration signifies a strong commitment to offer high-quality, industry-relevant skill training programs, setting the stage for young individuals to pursue fulfilling careers in the dynamic media and entertainment sector.

To bring awareness among students on the harsh realities of life and encourage them to do their small part to lessen social inequalities in the neighbourhood, the staff and students of Don Bosco Junior College, Yerwada, Pune, in association with the NGO Being Volunteer, took part in the Feed the Needy and Education for All Drive on July 22.
Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, with the initiative of Don Bosco Tech Society, inaugurated the T-TEP (Toyota Technical Education Program) in Meghalaya, with Automotive Skill Development Corporation (ASDC), the key partner for the implementation of the project.
