DON BOSCO PRISON MINISTRY, is a dedicated service to the needy and helpless people behind bars, in particular the young offenders, to restore their Freedom, Honour and Dignity, by persons living the Salesian Charism of dynamic fidelity to Don Bosco and his spirit.

A friendly football tournament between the Prison Staff Team and the DB Prison Students Team on the 4th and 5th of December had the Prison Staff Team emerge victorious with a 2-0 score. Notable figures, including the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Mr. Nabin Kumar Saha, and the Berhampore Central Correctional Home Superintendent, Mr. Dipak Sakri, attended the tournament. Mr. Saha, Mr. Sakri, and Father Francis distributed trophies. The event, sponsored by Don Bosco Panchanantala and supported by other donors, showcased the transformative power of recreation and teamwork in fostering hope and rehabilitation.

In a historic collaboration, the West Bengal Correctional Administration, Don Bosco Prison Ministry, Don Bosco Tech Society, and Schneider Electric Foundation have initiated a ground-breaking program at the Dum Dum Correctional Home. This transformative partnership recognizes the potential of skill training to empower inmates and enable them to envision a brighter future through gainful employment.

. NEW DELHI: BOSCO (Bosco Organisation for Social Concern and Operation), New Delhi has won the Pascual Chavez Award for Innovative Ministry, after having been short listed along with 3 other out reach ministry expressions of the Salesian Family for the year 2013. The award was conferred on 28 May 2014 at Yercaud, Salem, on BOSCO, a refugee assistance programme in operation in the Indian Capital New Delhi. The award which consists of a citation and monetary token of appreciation was handed over to Fr. Jose Mathew, Director of BOSCO by Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the Regional Councillor of the Salesians for South Asia. The ceremony took place in the presence of over 40 Salesians who had gathered together for the annual general assembly of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) at ``The Retreat``, Yercaud, Salem.

Don Bosco Prison Ministry Inaugurated its third Vocational Training Centre (VTC) on Septemebr 4, 2012 in West Bengal. This time the Vocational Training Centre was opened inside the Krishnanagar District jail, while the previous two were in Berhampore and Midnapore districts.
