Vishwa Jyothi Don Bosco College, Karunapuram, organised a debate on the theme “Technology makes us more human: By extending our capacity to know, love and serve” on Sept. 18, bringing together college students and members of nearby religious communities.
Salesian College, Dimapur, came alive on 20 September as nearly 700 young people from 18 youth centres gathered for the Annual Youth Meet 2026, hosted by the Province of Dimapur under the theme “Instruments of Peace.” The day-long programme blended prayer, formation, fellowship, creativity, and cultural expression, offering participants a platform to reflect on their role in building peace within families, communities, and society.
The Second South Asia Regional Council of the Salesian Family in Provincial House–Nitika Complex, Kolkata (Sept 10–13, 2026) concluded with a renewed call to communion, collaboration, and shared responsibility, highlighting youth and lay participation as co-responsible partners in Don Bosco’s mission. The gathering brought together 45 delegates, including Regional and Provincial Delegates of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), and representatives of affiliated congregations and lay associations.
The Annual Youth Ministry Delegates and Network Heads Meeting 2026 of South Asia is a strategic moment of reflection and renewal. Organized jointly by the Youth Pastoral Ministry, Rome, and Don Bosco Youth Animation – South Asia (DBYA-SA), Delhi, the meeting seeks to strengthen collaboration, discern pastoral directions, and respond more effectively to the challenges and aspirations of young people across the Salesian Provinces of South Asia.
Fr Rafael Bejarano SDB, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, Rome, arrived at Shillong Airport on September 8 for his maiden visit to the Salesian Province of Shillong. He was briefly received at Siloam before proceeding to Don Bosco Provincial House, Mawlai, where Salesian priests, brothers and staff welcomed him warmly.
The BOSCOM South Asia Executive Council met at Don Bosco Provincial House, Matunga, Mumbai, on August 28 and 29 to unveil its logo, chart the region’s communication roadmap, formulate guidelines for the personal and pastoral use of social media, and plan new initiatives to engage young people through digital and creative media.
A one-day training programme on “Animation on AI Tools” was held at the Don Bosco Provincial House on August 24, focusing on the basics of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its practical applications, and ethical use.
Eighty-one young leaders from the three Salesian Provinces of Northeast India gathered in Siloam, Meghalaya, for the Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF) Programme.
Young and newly ordained Salesian priests of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad met at Don Bosco Provincial House on August 18 and 19 for a two-day formation on “Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Faith Formation and Evangelisation.” The programme aimed to equip priests to engage more effectively with young people in an increasingly digital environment.
The Annual Philosophical Symposium at Vishwa Jyothi Don Bosco College focused on the ethics of digital surveillance and its implications for human freedom, privacy, and moral responsibility.
Don Bosco College, Golaghat, marked International Youth Day 2026 with a Youth Assembly organised by the DBCG Youth Club in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The event brought together students from diverse backgrounds to deliberate on issues shaping the future of young people.
About 1,200 girl students took part in an International Youth Day 2026 celebration organised by the JMJ Subodha Centre, Pastoral and Evangelisation Centre, at St Joseph’s College for Women, JMJ Nagar, Kurnool-2, on August 7. The Salesians of the Hyderabad Province animated the programme, which focused on empowering young women to understand their rights, address contemporary challenges and contribute to a more inclusive society.
More than 50 young people attended a seminar on "Responsibility of Young Generation Towards Climate Change" at Don Bosco Youth Village, Keeranur, on August 2, and pledged to adopt sustainable lifestyles and promote environmental stewardship in their communities.
