The Regional Meeting of Youth Ministry Delegates of South Asia, along with sector and network heads, was held at Salesian College, Siliguri Campus, from October 31 to November 4. The gathering brought together Salesian Youth Ministry Delegates and leaders from across South Asia for a time of reflection, communion, and collaboration in their shared mission of accompanying young people.
The Young Priests and Religious Training Program for Youth Ministry 2025, initiated by BIRDY, Hyderabad, under the banner of the Telugu Catholic Bishops' Council (TCBC), concluded successfully on October 28. Centred on the theme "Empower Faith Educators to Lead with Purpose," the two-day formation program brought together young priests, religious, and youth directors from across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to strengthen their leadership and pastoral roles in accompanying today's youth.
In a bold step toward digital evangelization, the Salesians of Don Bosco in the INB Province gathered for a transformative Media Seminar focused on equipping religious communicators to become “digital disciples.” Led by Fr Arockia Selvakumar SDB, the seminar emphasized the urgent need to move beyond passive media consumption and embrace content creation as a mission tool.
In a pioneering initiative that bridges technology and compassion, students from Don Bosco Infotech, Kilinochchi, led a transformative half-day workshop on student mental wellness for 30 principals and counselors from government schools in the Jaffna region. 'Revyv’, an AI-powered mental health management app developed by the Infotech students and powered by Carelabs was the highlight of the event.
The much-anticipated new website of the Bosco Institute of Research and Development for Youth (BIRDY) was officially inaugurated by Fr. Biju Michael, SDB, the Regional Head of Don Bosco South Asia, during a special session of the Leaders Meet. The event brought together key leaders and stakeholders of the Salesian community, underscoring the initiative’s importance in advancing youth development and digital outreach.
Students of Grades 8 and 9 from Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul participated in a virtual interaction with Grade 8 students of Oriyana School, Ukraine. The event was part of the global Climate Action Project, aimed at encouraging young people to learn and act together for a healthier planet.
As part of a year-long initiative to bridge classroom learning with community engagement, social work students from Loyola College, Trivandrum, partnered with Don Bosco Veedu to stage a compelling street play on screen addiction at MSK Nagar. The event also marked the launch of a new children’s theatre group that aims to take the message to neighbourhoods across the city.
The Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), under the auspices of the Don Bosco Konkan Development Society, empowered over 25 young job seekers from Goa and Karnataka through a two-day initiative that combined employability skills training with participation in the Prime Minister's National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) 2025 Job Fair. The event was held on September 26 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, organized by the Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Goa, in collaboration with Government ITIs of Margao, Vasco, and Canacona.
