Don Bosco Karunapuram observed Salesian Brothers’ Day with a meaningful and faith-filled celebration on Monday, January 26, highlighting the significance of brotherhood within the Salesian Congregation. The programme brought together members of the Salesian community for reflection, interaction, and thanksgiving, reaffirming the vocation and mission of Salesian Brothers in the life of the Church.
The Don Bosco Philosophate, Karunapuram, and the Sacred Heart Pre-Novitiate marked a significant moment in their formation journey with the visit of Fr. Silvio Roggia, SDB, General Councillor for Formation of the Salesian Congregation, on January 6 and 7. The visit formed part of his wider formative and fraternal animation tour aimed at strengthening Salesian formation communities in the region. He was accompanied by Fr. Jose Kuttiyanamattathil, SDB, a collaborator in formation ministry at the congregational level.
The Divyadaan Salesian Institute of Philosophy held a transformative two-day workshop on Migrant Ministry from October 13–14, organized by BIS Mumbai and led by Fr Francis Bosco SDB, Director of Don Bosco for Migrants (DB4M). The event brought together Salesian brothers and experts to explore the complex realities of migration and the Church’s pastoral response.
The Salesian Province of Panjim-Konkan organized an ongoing formation course titled The Tree of Life, a renewal programme for 35 perpetually professed confreres. The course was conducted in two batches, from September 21 to 23 and from September 24 to 26, and was led by Fr. Ian Doulton SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Youth Centre, Pune.
The Salesian Provinces of Guwahati (ING) and Shillong (INS) inaugurated the Inter-Provincial Junior Priests’ Animation 2025, also known as the Quinquennium, at Siloam, Umiam, Ri-Bhoi District, on September 22. The five-day programme, which runs until September 26, is guided by the theme “A Concentrated Consecrated Life” and is being animated by Rev. Fr. Albert Johnson SDB, former Provincial of Trichy (INT).
The students of Std. 9 and 10 from Don Bosco High School, Borivli (W), rolled up their sleeves and took to the shoreline for a Beach Clean-up Drive organized by the school. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about marine pollution and encourage young people to take responsibility for protecting the environment.
