The 3rd Edition of the Sonics All-Goa Under-17 Basketball League reached an electrifying conclusion on Saturday with Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, emerging as the undisputed champions after weeks of intense competition and spirited play.
In a celebration of youth, sports, and holistic education, Shri Wailadmiki Shylla, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, inaugurated the newly constructed futsal ground and football gallery at St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong. The event was attended by the Principal, Fr. Anthony Kharkongor SDB, Vice Principal, Fr. Aibor Nongsiej SDB, staff members, and a vibrant gathering of students.
The Third Don Bosco Knockout Football Tournament was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat. The grand opening ceremony, held at the Don Bosco Mini Stadium, brought together students, staff, parents, and guests to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
In a resounding display of athleticism, unity, and youthful spirit, the Don Bosco Sports Academy of Shillong Province (INS) emerged victorious at the maiden All India Don Bosco Inter-Province U-17 Basketball Tournament held in Hyderabad on 10–11 October 2025. The event, organized by the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) and DBYA – Sports Academy, was hosted by the Hyderabad Province (INH) at Don Bosco School of Excellence, Motinagar, and Don Bosco High School, Erragadda.
The Under-17 Boys Basketball Team of Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Naigaon, scripted a memorable victory at the District Sports Office (DSO) Inter-School Basketball Tournament, held at St Augustine High School, Vasai (West).
The Under-17 Girls Football Team of Don Bosco High School & Junior College, Naigaon, on September 8, struck bronze at the District Sports Office (DSO) Inter-School Football Tournament, finishing third among 32 competing schools.
Don Bosco School Kalimpong turned into a battleground of minds as it hosted an exhilarating inter-school chess tournament, drawing sharp-witted participants from eight schools across the region. The event was a celebration of not only tactical acumen but also the enduring values of discipline, focus, and sportsmanlike competition.
Celebrating the legacy of a priest hailed as the Father of Goan Basketball, the All-Goa Fr. Benedict Furtado Basketball Tournament was held across two weekends — June 21–22 and June 27–29, 2025 — drawing close to 90 teams from across the state in five youth categories: Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-17.
In a bold move to harness the power of sports for youth development, Don Bosco institutions, in partnership with Jugend Eine Welt (JEW), BREADS Bangalore, and the Oommen Chandy Foundation, officially launched the ‘Sports for Change’ initiative in Kerala. Eleven players out of a twelve-member team of the West Bengal State Women's Rugby Team, Jungle Crows, hail from the tea garden villages in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal under Don Bosco Shrine parish, Siliguri, established in 1993. The Women's Rugby team is at the 38th National Games at Dehradun from January 29-31.
Setting a new benchmark, the 2nd Don Bosco Football Tournament for Under-19 Boys, organized by St. Xavier's Higher Secondary Pathaliaghat, concluded on a high note on 8th November. The two-week-long event gathered young football enthusiasts from across Tripura, drawing 57 teams to compete in the prestigious knockout tournament at the Don Bosco Mini Stadium in Pathaliaghat. The tournament underscored the institution's commitment to youth empowerment and sportsmanship. The game kicked off on 20th October by Chief Guest Father K.K. Joseph, SDB.
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) Dimapur came alive from 24th to 26th October, as students from across Nagaland gathered for the All Don Bosco Schools Nagaland Meet 2024. The three-day event, centered around the theme of Students for Change, showcased a dynamic blend of athletic prowess, cultural heritage, and academic excellence.
