The St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat, a Don Bosco Institution, lifted the boys' brass band category Champion's Trophy at the State Level Inter-School Band Competition, organized by the School Education Department, Government of Tripura, held on December 6 at Khudiram Government Higher Secondary School, Agartala, Tripura. Nine boys' teams from various schools across Tripura participated, while two competed in the girls' category.
The Don Bosco Youth Centre, Vaduthala, Koch, hosted “Don Bosco Vaduthalotsavam 2024,” a four-day celebration marking the festival of Onam from September 13 to 16. The event, which was open to people from all walks of life, served as a platform to highlight community spirit, tradition, and Kerala’s cultural heritage, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.
On September 6, Don Bosco Kalvi Solai launched the Butterfly Express: Library for Village Schools campaign to create well-resourced libraries in rural areas. The launch had prominent figures, including N. Ram of The Hindu, Dr. Jayakumar Reddy, and Mr. Joshua Madhan, supporting the cause. The initiative, symbolizing the transformative impact of reading, also featured the launch of Fr. John Alexander's book by Archbishop George Antonysamy.
The atmosphere at Don Bosco Music Academy, Vennala, Kochi, was electrifying as the young talents rocked the floor, celebrating World Music Day. The event, which took place on June 21, saw an enthusiastic crowd amazed by the performances of the academy's students.
Don Bosco Academy, Nerul, in collaboration with Canon, hosted a two-day free photography workshop on November 17 and 18. A basic course in photography welcomed 42 participants, aimed to nurture a love for photography and equip amateur photographers with the essential skills to embark on their creative journeys.
Don Bosco Youth Centre, Thrissur, Kerala, in collaboration with Salesian Cooperators and Don Bosco College NSS unit, orchestrated "Harmony Hour" on the occasion of World Music Day to spread love and happiness among the children from Snehadeepthy Special School, a school run by the Samaritan Sisters.
The Student Council and Cultural Club of Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Chennai , organised its first ever mega Intercollegiate Cultural Fest, JIVE’23, on March 13 and 14 with the theme “Choose life! Say no to drugs! It hosted participants from around 200+ colleges (Arts and Science, Medical and Engineering) in and around Chennai. The cultural fest had 17 on and off-stage events in which 1250 students from various colleges like Loyola, Stella Maris, Patrician, Gurunanak, WCC, MGC, St. Thomas, St. Joseph’s, MGR University, Vels University, Madras University, Stanley Medical College and Ramachandra Medical College participated.
