Salesian jubilees—whether Silver, Golden, or Diamond—are celebrated as moments of gratitude and fidelity, honoring those who have lived their vocation with constancy and dedication. They are not simply personal milestones but occasions to recognize God’s call and accompaniment throughout a Salesian’s life and ministry. These celebrations invite the community to look back with gratitude, live the present with hope, and envision the future of the educational and evangelizing mission with renewed strength.
At the same time, jubilees and anniversaries of provinces or institutions serve as opportunities to re-focus on the core mission: working with young people, especially the poor and marginalized. They deepen the sense of community and family spirit through shared prayer and joy, strengthening unity within the Salesian Family.
Salesian Rector Major Father Fabio Attard, 11th successor of Don Bosco, made a historic pastoral visit to the Santhal mission at Azimganj, as part of the Centenary Celebrations of the Salesian Province of Kolkata (1926–2026). Rooted in a story that began in the 1950s among some of the poorest tribal and migrant communities of Murshidabad, the Azimganj gathering symbolically brought together the past, present and future of the province’s mission among the Santhals.
Don Bosco Chhotaudepur marked a historic milestone on January 31, 2026, with the grand culmination of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, drawing together clergy, religious, collaborators, past pupils, and well-wishers in a spirit of thanksgiving. The day unfolded as a threefold celebration: the Feast of St. John Bosco, the Golden Jubilee of the Don Bosco institution at Chhotaudepur, and the Golden Jubilee of the First Religious Profession of Fr George Carlos—a confluence of faith, memory, and mission.
The centenary celebrations of the Kolkata Salesian Province (1926–2026) will culminate on February 8 with the installation of Fr. Sunil Kerketta as the 18th Provincial. The solemn midday installation ceremony will be held at Nitika Don Bosco and presided over by the Salesian Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard, the 11th successor of Don Bosco.
The Retreat – Don Bosco, Yercaud, celebrated its Platinum Jubilee on January 10, marking 75 years of dedicated service as a Post-Novitiate Formation House since its founding in 1950. The milestone occasion was marked by deep gratitude and joy, recalling a legacy shaped by God’s providence and the sustained commitment of generations of Salesians and collaborators.
The Salesian Family is celebrating 150 years of missionary service with the release of Legacy of Unity, the third and final documentary in a jubilee trilogy marking the sesquicentennial of Saint John Bosco’s first missionary expedition in 1875. Don Bosco transformed missionary zeal into a way of life, entrusting his sons and daughters with a daring vision: to reach the young, especially the poorest and most abandoned, wherever they may be. Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli, a pioneering educational institution in Northeast India, marked its Silver Jubilee on November 22, celebrating 25 years of service, empowerment and hope for young people across the region. The event commemorated DBI’s journey from a formative dream to a transformative force that has shaped countless futures.
Salesian communities across the Province of St. John Paul II, Shillong, joined the global Salesian Family in commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition — the historic departure of Don Bosco’s first missionaries from Valdocco, Turin, to Argentina on November 11, 1875. The sesquicentennial celebration was observed with gratitude, reflection, and renewed missionary zeal across communities.
Tirupattur, Tamil Nadu – November 9, 2025 — The Salesian Province of Chennai (INM) marked the Salesian Missionary Day 2025 with a vibrant two-day celebration at Don Bosco Aspirantate, Tirupattur, on November 8 and 9. Themed “Salesian Missionary: A Sower Sowing the Seed of Love,” the event coincided with the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition (1875–2025), drawing around 270 participants from 26 Salesian institutions and formation houses across the province.
The Salesian Family in Sri Lanka came together on November 5 for a solemn Eucharistic celebration, offering thanks and praise to the Triune God for the countless blessings received through years of faithful service and missionary zeal. The Salesian Province of Guwahati joyfully celebrated the Jubilee of Confreres and Province Community Day 2025 on Saturday, October 18, at the Provincial House, Panbazar, bringing together Salesians from across the province in thanksgiving for the gift of consecrated life. The celebration honoured confreres marking their Golden and Silver Jubilees of religious commitment, recognizing decades of dedicated service to the Church and society. Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, inaugurated its Platinum Jubilee celebrations on September 8, marking 75 years of excellence in education and service (1951–2026). The day unfolded with devotion, pride, and festivity as the college community gathered to celebrate its rich legacy and future vision.
The Diocese of Krishnagar and the Salesian Family gathered at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer to commemorate the birth anniversary of Venerable Fr. Francis Convertini, SDB, a missionary revered for his saintly life and pastoral dedication.
The 79th Independence Day celebrations at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Polo Ground), Shillong, turned into a proud moment for Savio Juniorate as its marching band, representing Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Mawlai, clinched the first prize for Best Marching Band.
