Fr. Rafael Bejarano Inaugurates 20th Year of Don Bosco Tech with Website Launch
Don Bosco Tech marked the beginning of its 20th anniversary celebrations with the launch of its revamped website, symbolizing two decades of transformative skill development in India. The milestone celebration carries the theme, "20 Years of Skilling with a Heart – Building Futures Together.”
The new website was officially launched on November 1 at Siliguri by Fr. Rafael Bejarano SDB, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, Rome, in the presence of Youth Ministry Delegates from all Salesian provinces, students, staff, and Salesian representatives. Over 200 Don Bosco Tech staff members from across India joined the event virtually, marking a proud and unifying moment for the network.
Meanwhile, the anniversary logo was unveiled in Bengaluru by Mr. Sudarshan N.P., Assistant Executive Engineer, BWSSB, and Mr. Adarsha, Assistant Director, Department of Horticulture.
The new website highlights Don Bosco Tech’s evolution into India’s largest Catholic skill development network. Designed as an interactive and dynamic platform, it connects youth, partners, and employers while offering real-time updates on training programs and success stories. All data and updates are integrated through its in-house system, BOONFACE (Bosco Online Facilitation Centre), ensuring authenticity and transparency. Future upgrades will focus on digitizing the curriculum and increasing accessibility for students and partners nationwide.
Opening the ceremony, Fr. Eugene, Director of Don Bosco Skill Mission, outlined the network’s achievements — over 4.78 lakh youth trained, a 72% placement rate, and 2,744 trainees currently in training.
In his keynote address, Fr. Bejarano praised Don Bosco Tech for transforming vocational training into a mission of dignity and empowerment. “When young people acquire skills, they don’t just secure employment — they gain the confidence to advocate for human rights and dignity,” he said. “Youth are the most cherished segment of society, and they must be nurtured with skills — a vision that St. John Bosco himself championed.”
Fr. George Mathew extended gratitude to the national and state teams for their collaboration. He congratulated the 56 Don Bosco Tech Siliguri students in the Hospitality Training program, wishing them success in their placements as the institution steps into its third decade of skilling India with compassion and purpose.
