Since 1974, Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan, Palluruthy, in collaboration with the Cochin Corporation, has been actively striving towards the welfare of the youth and the eradication of atrocities against children in society. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of this noble cause, the community organized a celebration on November 9, attended by notable personalities.

The Salesian Social Forum (SSF), a group of like-minded Salesians, held a two-day National Convention at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, on August 10-11. The event, titled "Contextualizing the Dream of Don Bosco: A South Asian Workshop by Salesians in India Today," brought together about 40 Salesians from various Indian provinces to explore ways to renew Don Bosco's vision for the poor.

Father Rafael Bejarano Revira SDB, overseeing Social Works within the Youth Services Department of the Salesian Congregation in Italy, Rome, visited various Young at Risk (YaR) centres in the Salesian Province of Bangalore (INK). He was accompanied by Father Joseph Prabu, Executive Director of the DB YaR Forum in Delhi, and Father Francis Bosco, Joint Secretary of the Migrant Ministry within DB YaR Forum, Delhi.

The Salesian Provincial of Bangalore Province, Father Jose Thomas Koyickal sdb, blessed and laid the foundation stone for the new building at Don Bosco Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on September 20. Don Bosco Veedu (house) is a venture by the Salesians to educate and empower the deprived and the underprivileged of the society in Thiruvananthapuram.

An educationist for four decades, Salesian priest Dr. Nirmol Vincent Gomes who headed Don Bosco operations of Bengal, Sikkim, Nepal and Bangladesh will be ordained Bishop of Krishnanagar diocese of Nadia, West Bengal on 23rd July 2022.

On 28th of March, the birthday of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was celebrated as Humanitarian Day in our Salesian Parish, Broadway. Mr. P. K. Sekar Babu, the Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu and Mr. S. Peter Alphonse, the current Chairman of State Minorities Commission, Tamil Nadu, were the chief guests for the Humanitarian Celebration Day which was held at St. Francis Xavier’s Church and SAGAYA MADHA Shrine, Broadway, Chennai.

Don Bosco Anbu Illam-HCL Foundation U-18 girls team marked another success in the football tournament by winning back to back the Nari Shakthi Trophy 2022 at the International Women`s Day celebrations.

The Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) released a new book on Mamma Margaret in the Tamil language authored by Father Dr John Dharmanathan SDB on February 18, 2022. The translated work, based on the highly researched work of Don Teresio Bosco, `Vita di Mamma Margherita La Mamma di Don Bosco`, published in 2005, is set in the background of the coming Synod.
A new extension block was blessed and inaugurated at Don Bosco Prem Seva Sadan, Hayathnagar, Hyderabad, for girls picked up from the street and cared for by the Salesians. The growing numbers and the needs of girls necessitated Don Bosco Navajeevan (DBNJ) to add comfortable living space for their use.

The Honourable Governor of Goa, Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai, visited Margaret Bosco Bal Saunstha, Goa, an institute for the destitute children, on December 1, 2021, as a part of the distribution of the Governor`s discretionary fund. The Governor joined the inmates for breakfast and shared a cake on his birthday.

The Salesians and Missionaries of Charity Sisters from Boys Town Gangarampur, West Bengal, distributed relief materials at Sundarbans some 75 km from Diamond Harbour on November 8, 2021. The materials consist of rice, dal, oil, blankets and medicines given to 90 families.

``If it was not for Father U P Sebastian and Father Mathew George, and the kindness of Madam Petra, the miracle of the restoration of my eyesight would never have happened,`` said Darshan Oraon, a 21-year-old youngster after the eye surgery. Darshan hailing from Oodlabari tea gardens in North Bengal had to undergo surgery for his eye for an injury of 33 months old. His insatiable desire to learn to ride a motorbike ended in a tragedy when a speeding motorbike hit him from behind, throwing him off the road and causing severe injury to his face and eye on that ill-fated day in December 2018.
