Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

On October 25, 2024, a one-day orientation on the Young at Risk (YaR) and Migrant Ministry took place at the Provincial House in Dimapur, Nagaland, aimed at revitalizing these critical ministries. Resource persons Father Francis Bosco and Father Joe Prabhu from the Don Bosco National Forum for Young at Risk, Delhi, led the program, engaging 52 participants, including Rectors and In-charges from the Dimapur Province.

Don Bosco Tech Society is proud to receive the prestigious Community Empowerment Award 2024 from Amazon Web Services (AWS) for its outstanding contribution to uplifting NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) youth and women, fostering holistic community development.

Youth Involve (YI), an initiative of Bosco Institute Jorhat, celebrated its 10th anniversary alongside the bicentennial of Don Bosco's dream from September 17–19 at Siloam, Umiam. Twenty-six young social entrepreneurs, leading as many social projects and initiatives from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, and Nagaland, and their Salesian and lay mentors and coaches came together for three days of sharing experiences and insights, and learning from successes, failures, distractions and challenges through presentations, exhibitions, conversations, reflections, and group activities. They were welcomed by Fr. George Palamattam SDB, the founder of Siloam.

The Salesian Social Forum (SSF), a group of like-minded Salesians, held a two-day National Convention at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, on August 10-11. The event, titled "Contextualizing the Dream of Don Bosco: A South Asian Workshop by Salesians in India Today," brought together about 40 Salesians from various Indian provinces to explore ways to renew Don Bosco's vision for the poor.

The Mass Communication and Journalism students of Salesian College Siliguri and Students of Don Bosco School Oodlabari in neighbouring Jalpaiguri district have teamed up to produce short radio dramas to create awareness on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One radio drama each is prepared for the 17 SDG goals.

The staff and students of Don Bosco Junior College Yerwada, Pune, in collaboration with the NGO Being Volunteer, participated in a Tree Plantation Drive at Mahalunge Forest Land on July 15 with the goal of instilling a passion for sustainability in students to make the world a better place.

In a spirit of proactive engagement Don Bosco College Youth Centre, Mannuthy, Thrissur, celebrated World Environment Day. The meaningful event symbolized a collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability. They distributed 200 plants in the neighbourhood.

The 12th Annual National Convention of all Don Bosco Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centres of India was held from February 3 to 5, 2023, at Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bangalore (Karnataka), with the theme, 'Let’s Reconnect' to revisit the origins of the network and closely look at the skilling memory lane with the idea of looking ahead to impact the lives of the needy youth in large numbers.

The YESS Forum 2022 [Youth Empowerment for Sustainability and Social Impact], a hybrid summit, will be held on Earth Day, April 22, 2022. The Forum launched by Bosconet will unfold the sustainability landscape of Don Bosco Network along with its CSR partners. It will showcase innovative models and initiatives undertaken by non-profits, start-ups, corporate CSR teams, and other stakeholders in education, sustainable livelihoods, environment, and women empowerment. The discussions from this Forum will guide actors in the development sector to incorporate proven models and innovative ideas in their interventions aimed at marginalized youth.
