SYM Hyderabad Inspires 1,600 Youth to Become Champions of Change
The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of the Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad, ignited a spirit of responsibility and environmental consciousness among 1,600 young participants during the Youth Share Fest 2025, held at St. Joseph’s College for Women, Kurnool, from August 7 to 9.
Themed “Youth for a Sustainable Future – Shaping the Nation with Resilience and Responsibility: Champions of Change, Guardians of Growth,” the fest placed sustainability, resilience, and responsible citizenship at the forefront of youth engagement.
On August 8, SYM’s animation team—Fr. Yeruva Joji, Fr. Dasari Nireekshan, Fr. Indragit Gupta, and Mr. Kandular Anvesh led a full day of interactive sessions. Through dynamic activities and discussions, they instilled the spirit of Laudato Si’, drawing attention to the United Nations’ Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals, the Ten Green Commandments, and the urgent call to address environmental challenges such as global warming, deforestation, biodiversity loss, pollution, and plastic waste.
Participants also explored the intersection of technology and sustainability, with sessions on artificial intelligence and the vital role of youth as changemakers. Engagement was boosted through quizzes, pictorial presentations, and a panel discussion, ensuring active sharing and learning.
By the day’s end, both participants and organizers voiced a renewed commitment to “care for our common home,” echoing Peter Drucker’s reminder: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” The fest left youth motivated to act as true guardians of growth and sustainability in their communities.
