From October 18 to 20, the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, in collaboration with Bosco Soft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., hosted a three-day workshop on "AI in Apostolic Ministry: Enhancing Leadership, Management, and Administration" at the Don Bosco Provincial House Hyderabad. This unique event drew over 40 participants, including Salesian fathers, clerics, religious fathers and sisters, diocesan priests, and laypeople.
2nd March 2024 will be a day to remember for the members of BOSCOM (Salesian Media Network of South Asia) as it marked the launching of its new initiative the "Luminata" project. There were over 60 participants present online from across South Asia consisting of Salesian Social Communication delegates of provinces, members of the Provincial Social Communication Commission, FMA and other Salesian family of Media Animators and various Lay members involved in the media ministry.
Don Bosco Tech Society, the network of all Don Bosco TVET centres in India, was honoured with the prestigious Mahatma Award 2023 for Social Good and Impact. Don Bosco Tech Society's remarkable achievement stands out among the 107 recipients carefully selected from 2100 applicants across diverse categories. The award ceremony, held at the Indian International Center in New Delhi on September 30, was a prestigious event graced by eminent personalities from various sectors. The Executive Director Father George Mathew and the Rector of the SPCI House Father Joseph Manipadath, along with members of the national team, received the award on behalf of the Don Bosco Tech Society.
In a stride toward fostering career progression and honing essential soft skills, the Institution for Culture and Rural Development (I-CARD) in Jorhat, Assam, embarked on its annual Training Program for Educated Unemployed Youth. The inauguration took place on September 12 with distinguished guests Fr. K.A Thomas, Director of I-CARD, Dr. Salim Ahmed, Professor of J.B. College, Jorhat, and Mr Uma Pathari (Executive Member) and Mr. Tralukya Pame:gam, the representatives from the Mising Autonomous Council, Government of Assam.
A successful capacity-building programme was conducted on August 6, at Don Bosco, Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, specifically for tutors associated with the BEST (Building Effective Solutions Together) and DREAM (Dedicating Resources to Educating and Mentoring towards Combating Child Labour) projects.
The student leaders of Don Bosco Schools from Kerala participated in the one-day workshop held at Don Bosco Schools, Irinjalakuda, Kerala, on July 22. Dr P Sariin, IAAS (Rtd.) with Father Santhosh Manikombel SDB, Principal, DBHSS Irinjalakuda, Father Manu Peedikayil SDB, Principal of Don Bosco Central School, Irinjalakuda and other dignitaries lit the lamp and inaugurated the All Kerala Don Bosco School Leaders’ Meet. The student leaders, numbering 250, from seven Don Bosco Schools attended the workshop with enthusiasm and joy.Â
