Kerela, Day Two - Coming together and sharing is the best thing to happen, said the Rector Major, as he began the second day of visit in the province of Bangalore with the Holy Eucharist at Don Bosco Aluva. The Salesian Family members of Kerala region participated in the Holy Eucharist concelebrated by Father Maria Arokiam, the Regional, Father Joyce, the Provincial, Father Tom Uzhunnalil, Father Horacio Lopez, the secretary of the RM and other Salesian priests. The RM exhorted everyone to be transparent like Jesus. In an exclusive audience with the family members of Father Tom Uzhunnalil, the Rector Major thanked them for their prayerful support and concern during the agonizing days of Fr Tom with his abductors.

The sacred relics of Don Bosco arrived at the shrine of St. John Bosco, Cherrapunjee on March 6, marking the end of a long journey that began from Turin nearly a month ago. The Casket, which contains a life-sized replica of Don Bosco`s body, is referred to as a `relic` because it has concealed within it the actual bones of the right hand of the saint.

A coffee table book entitled Becchi to Guwahati: A Bicentenary Tribute to Don Bosco, Guwahati Province edited by Fr. Johnson Parackal was released by Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Saikia, Vice Chancellor, Cotton College State University during the Annual Day celebration of Don Bosco School, Panbazar, 27th November 2015. The coffee table book was released to commemorate the recently held Bicentenary celebrations of Don Bosco.

The Province level Bicentenary celebration of Don Bosco`s birth took off with a colourful ceremony at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur at 6.00 pm on 23 October 2015. The Chief Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony was Shri. H. Atokhe Aye, Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council, Dimapur. Over thousand youths from the Upper Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur with their teachers, Fathers, brothers and Sisters took part in it.

The Youth Expo 2015 hosted at Don Bosco School Alaknanda, New Delhi from 28-30 September to conclude the birth bicentenary of Don Bosco had a grand finale on September 30. A glittering array of eminent alumni [ae] paid homage to the priest-educator Don Bosco amidst 1300 youngsters from across the country.

The SFC2015 [Salesian Family Congress] of South Asia underway from 26-28 September at Don Bosco Liluah, Kolkata drew up the Mission Statement on the final day, today. 2000 family members participating from 12 groups of the Salesian Family discussed the vision and mission possibilities. The Mission Statement highlights the common identity, sense of belonging and provides fresh vitality to the One Family One Mission of Don Bosco.
