Director of Sumedha Centre for Psychospiritual Wellbeing at Jeolikote, Uttarakhand Dr. Jose Parappully, Salesian priest and clinical psychologist says, ``the psychospiritual and educational reflection entitled `Psyche & Soul`, is a weekend podcast. I use insights from psychology, sacred scripture as well as the socio-political realities of our everyday life to help us enhance our emotional wellbeing and our spiritual life - our psyche and our soul.``

An online discussion was organized by DB YaR Forum with the Regional Councillor for South Asia Father Biju Michael, Father Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar the provincial in-charge of YaR along with the YaR coordinators of all Indian provinces. The main focus of the discussion was adapting to the post COVID-19 situation work with the young at risk, revisiting the annual calendar of YaR, and felicitating Father Thomas Koshy on the completion of his 06 year term.

The Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts [SIGA] Chennai, hosted and participated in the District-cum-State Level competitions of the India Skills 2020, on 27 January 2020, as a lead up to the WorldSkills 2021. Out of 44 Print Media Technology participants from various districts in Tamil Nadu, Elakiya Sree and Ponmareeswarn qualified for the next level competitions. SIGA HoD Fredrick, and Lecturer Peter Nirmalraj, were part of the jury.

The first Technical Education Council meeting was held at The Citadel, the Head Office of Salesians of Chennai Province, on 12 August animated by the Vice Provincial Fr. Don Bosco and Province Delegate Fr. Thaddeus Gregory. Six coordinators from three technical sectors namely Polytechnic Colleges, ITIs and VTCs, discussed and reviewed the National Policy Documents, Provincial Chapter Deliberations and Province Directory of Policies and Procedures in view of Academic Year 2017-18.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chennai Traffic Planning, Mr. S. Sivanandam, presided over the Road Safety and Traffic Rules Awareness seminar conducted by the SIGA Polytechnic College, a Don Bosco Institute, for their 250 young diploma engineers on the college campus. The primary purpose of the seminar was to fulfill the demand of the TN Government to organize awareness programmes for college students on the dangers of footboard travel that now attracts sanction of removal from school.

15 foreign participants from 9 countries visited SIGA, a Don Bosco Graphic Arts Institute, to get an exposure to curriculum design practices, instructional method design concepts and vocational education practices. This visit was arranged by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research - NITTTR, Chennai as part of their two month advanced certificate course on `Curriculum Design and Instructional Materials Development` conducted for the participants from developing countries, and sponsored by Government of India.

A meeting was convened on 22nd April 2010 at Provincial House, Citadel to chalk out the action plan of INM DB Tech project for 2010 as well as to finalize the MoRD project implementation at our province level. Members from 15 institutions were present for the meeting. The session started with a short prayer followed by the welcome address by Fr.Jeffrey Sdb in which he welcomed as well as appreciated the heads of the Technical institutions for their collaboration in implementing DB Tech project.

ROME -- Coming on the heels of epoch making three continent publishing of the book ``Clothing For Revolution`` by Dr Peter Gonsalves of Salesian University`s Social Communications Faculty another Indian student from the same faculty has grabbed the cover story in ``Communication Research Trends`` a quarterly review of Communication Research from the U.S. [Vol. 28 (2009) No.4]. His lead article running into 23 pages (out of 43 pages) is entitled ``TAMIL CINEMA`` by Perianayagam Jesudoss. It is preceded by one page ``Editor`s Introduction`` on Tamil Cinema and its cultural impact both for India and the world.

(ANS - Dimapur) - On Thursday 11 February a fire broke out in a small student hostel near the Don Bosco Institute in Palin, in the State of Arunachal Pradesh (AP), bordering China in the ``India-Dimapur`` Province. 14 children died and another 6 are in hospital.
