The Salesian Province of Annai Velankanni, Tiruchy, is blessed with seven newly ordained priests: Benjamin James, Christopher Susai, Anantharaj Santhanam, Arockiaraj Irudayaraj, Danistanraj Iruthayadhason, Richard Vivek Kumar and David Antony. Most Rev. Antony Pappusamy DD, Archbishop of Madurai, ordained the candidates to the priesthood. They will work on the mission for the young and the needy in various capacities in the province.

The Shevaroyhills Tribal Development Institute (STDi) of the Retreat, Yercaud decided to conduct a survey with the help of final year students of Masters of Social Work from Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur. Two research scholars have been meeting people and talking to them on their mental health issues. A sample survey among hundred women revealed that mental health is a grave concern among the people, particularly women. Domestic violence and hunger are leading to various issues. Though the survey is still continuing, The Retreat Salesian community at Yercaud, immediately wanted to address the issue simultaneously for those in urgent need.

Dn. Allen Chrisrea, originating from the Province of Tiruchy, now a member of AFE province, was ordained on 18 October 2020 at Veerapandiapattinam, in Thoothukudi District, Tamilnadu, India. Most. Rev. Stephen Antony, the bishop of the diocese ordained the Deacon on 18 October 2020 at Veerapadiapattinam at 05.00 pm.

In the continuing COVID-19 lockdown, the marginalised poor daily-wage earning families have lost their livelihood, filled with frustration and anxiety without food, not knowing how to cope up with the current situation.
The Salesians of Don Bosco Tiruchy [INT] are reaching out to stranded migrants, tribals, home-maids, health-sanitary workers, abandoned elders, and the visually impaired, providing groceries, food packets, medicines and health sanitary materials.

Having identified 225 families in 15 tribal villages, the young Salesian scholastics are making further inroads to reach out to the most deserving in need.

The Retreat Yercaud, the post-novitiate community of Tiruuchy Province, is in solidarity with the affected people in the Shevaroy Hills of Yercaud. The community received the news about abandoned old people in their homes without food. The community immediately sprang into action in aid of the poor. Though the gates are locked without much movements, the youth volunteers collaborate with Don Bosco and the people. The young people take turns to deliver food for the elderly. And keep a watch on starving people.

The Eight Deacons Ashley Stephen, Antro Belevandiran, Arockiadoss Antonisamy, John Bosco, Joseph Raj, Robert William, Sebastian Vijayan, Siluvai Adimai were ordained as priests on 29 December 2019. Most Reverend Antony Pappusamy, Archbishop of Madurai Diocese, ordained them.

We are happy to inform that Father Angel Fernandez Artime, our Rector Major has appointed Father Agilan Sarprasadam, the present Vice Provincial, as the fifth PROVINCIAL of the Salesian Province of Annai Velankanni, Tiruchy (INT). The announcement was made on 18 December 2019. The installation of the Provincial Elect will be held on 04 January 2020 at Don Bosco Manikandam, Tiruchy.
