It all began with a brief meaningful moment of prayer at the cemetery of the Late Provincial, Father Antony Joseph. Father Vaclav Klement, Regional Superior of East Asia Oceania, Father Agilan, the Provincial Elect, the Salesians and members of the Salesian Family paid tribute to the former provincial. Father Maria Arokiam, the Regional Superior of South Asia, presided over the Eucharist and Father Vaclav Klement, Regional Superior of East Asia Oceania, preached the Homily, received the profession of faith and installed the New Provincial. Father Arokiaraj Mariasusai officially read out the letter of the Rector Major. The SDB Provincial of INM, FMA Provincial of INM, and the Norbertine Provincial, along with the Former SDB Provincials of INT and INM Provinces, the Vicar-Generals of Trichy and Thanjavur dioceses, and around 120 priests, members of the Salesian family, representatives from other religious congregations, friends and well-wishers were present for the celebration. During the Felicitation, Father Maria Arockiam Kanaga gave his words of blessing, highlighting the qualities of Father Agilan. Father K.M. Jose, the Salesian Provincial of INM, and Sister Margaret, FMA Provincial of Trichy felicitated Father Agilan. The messages from the Mother Generals of FMA sisters and SMA sisters were read by Sr. Little Flower FMA and Sister Jayanthi SMA respectively. Father Agilan, in his speech of acceptance, thanked the Rector Major and the General Council for their trust and confidence in him. He thanked the two Regionals for their presence, prayers, collaboration, support and encouragement. In line with his motto, to be committed witness of communion, Father Agilan invited the whole province, the Salesian family and all the collaborators to work together as one family, letting go of the differences and biases.
