The fourth batch of Sri Lankan Refugee Skill training has been completed and the Graduation Day was organized on 6 July 2014 at Don Bosco, Thanjaur. About 769 Sri Lankan Tamil refugee beneficiaries (both skill training and women welfare club beneficiaries) and 40 Priests and Staff members participated. Fr. Albert Johnson, sdb. the Provincial of Don Bosco Trichy province presided over the function.

Sixteen coordinators of the second batch SLR Women`s Club participated in the planning meet held at Don Bosco Provincial`s House, Trichy. Fr. Thamburaj introduced Fr. Ricopar sdb, the new Executive Director of Cauveri DO to the participants. Graduation day celebrations and organizing cultural programmes were discussed with the participants. Fr. Ricopar discussed with each of the coordinators individually about the initial preparations to be made to start micro-business activities.

On Saturday 1st March Fr. Santhanaraj sdb blessed and opened the new computer laboratory. The air-conditioned computer laboratory with 14 Computers is a boon for the school students and rural youth who show a great interest in acquiring computer skills.

Alaihal Media has released a book on the Way of the Cross for this season of Lent by name ``Deepangal Anaivathillai.`` The book consists of 10 way of the cross, contributed by nine authors, mostly Religious Fathers and Sisters of various Congregations. The design and Layout is well done by Alaihal Media team and the content is also rich with meaning.

In continuation of women empowerment initiatives to the Sri Lankan refugee women (SLR), a 2-day Club Management skill training workshop was organized at Tirunelveli on 25 and 26 February 2014 and at Trichy on 28 Feb and 1 Mar 2014. The Sri Lankan women club members were divided into two groups. One group attended the training workshop at Tirunelveli and the other group at Trichy.

Project concept expounding meeting for the 2nd batch women welfare club secretaries was organized at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Kallukuzhy, Trichy on 08 February 2014. Club secretaries from 14 camps participated. Fr. Thamburaj, Executive Director, CAUVERI-DO welcomed and gave an introduction speech explaining about the purpose of this meeting. The Annual Past Pupils meeting of Pastor Lenssen Polytechnic College - Kuthenkuly was organized in Chennai for the first time in the history of the college in an official manner. The meeting took place on 26 January 2014 in St. Mary`s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, George Town, Chennai from 09.30 a.m. to 04.00 p.m. On behalf of the College, Fr. Thomas Louis, the Correspondent, Mr. Prince Antony Joel, Lecturer of EEE Department, Mr. S. Selvakumar, College Placement Officer, Br. Gabriel and Br. Justin who are doing theology in Kavarapettai, Chennai were the main organizers of this Annual Past Pupils Meeting.

Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem organized a ``Kids Talent Expo 2013`` on 1 December 2013 at Moovendhar Arangam, Salem, for all the kids of the town. Nearly 2500 Children enthusiastically participated in the various competitions, such as Chess, Carrom, Drawing, Singing, Dance, Yoga and Young Scientist award held there. Children came in thousands accompanied by their parents for the talent expo. The event was organized as Anbu Illam is celebrating the Silver Jubilee Year (1988-2013) of its work for the street and marginalized youth and children.

On 31st of October, a new shopping complex consisting of 2 shops was blessed and opened. The ceremony took place with the Solemn Holy Eucharist which was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Albert Johnson Sdb, the Provincial and Rev. Fr. Sandhanaraj Sdb, the Economer. After the Holy Eucharist, together with the Salesians and the people of the parish Fr. Provincial blessed the shops and Fr. Economer cut the ribbon to open the shops.

Mr. Samayamoorthy, the District Collector of Tirunelveli and the Deputy Collector Mrs. Rohini Ramadhas together with other government officials and the group of police, under the guidance of the DSP of Valliyur, distributed the `AMMA Welfare schemes`` to the Kuthenkuly Village Panchayat people, in a function held in our College. From morning 09.30 to 05.30 p.m., the campus was filled with people.
