On 3 March 2024, Clerics Jeswin Mastan and Agnel Dias of the Salesian Province of Bombay (INB) and Clerics Joswin D'Souza and Arun Mendonca from the Salesian Province of Panjim (INP) were ordained as deacons by Rev. John Rodrigues, Bishop of the Diocese of Poona, at Sacred Heart Parish, Yerwada.

Don Bosco Academy, Nerul, in collaboration with Canon, hosted a two-day free photography workshop on November 17 and 18. A basic course in photography welcomed 42 participants, aimed to nurture a love for photography and equip amateur photographers with the essential skills to embark on their creative journeys.

The Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Gujarat held a captivating three-day youth seminar titled, The Dream that Makes You Dream, from November 13 to 15 at the AmrutDhara Don Bosco Animation Centre, Kapadvanj. Aligned with the Strenna 2024 of the Rector Major, the seminar brought together around 80 enthusiastic young minds to explore the power of dreams and their potential to shape a brighter future.

The Salesian Province of Bombay (INB) celebrated the Jubilee of Religious Profession and Priestly Ordination of 11 Salesians on November 11 at the Shrine of Don Bosco’s Madonna, Matunga, in the presence of Salesians, family members, well-wishers and friends.

The Social Communication Commission of the Salesian Province of Bombay (INB) conducted a training programme for trainers on Digital Addiction at Don Bosco Provincial House, Matunga, on  October 26. Thirty-five participants from 14 institutions of INB were present for the programme.

The Provincial delegates of the Salesian Brothers of the South Asia region gathered at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Mumbai, on 7 and 8 October to deliberate and strategise the upcoming Salesian Brothers Congress hosted by the Province of Calcutta from December 30 to January 3, 2024.

In a captivating celebration of nature's wonders, St Dominic Savio High School, Andheri, proudly unveiled Bosco’s Papillon Haven, a sanctuary dedicated to butterflies, on September 15. The lush haven was inaugurated by Fr Savio Silveria, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Bombay, during his annual visit.

The staff and students of Don Bosco Junior College Yerwada, Pune, in collaboration with the NGO Being Volunteer, participated in a Tree Plantation Drive at Mahalunge Forest Land on July 15 with the goal of instilling a passion for sustainability in students to make the world a better place.

A Diploma Course for Lay Salesian Collaborators commenced on July 15 at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Koregaon Park, Pune. The team headed by Father Ian Doulton with Sr Teresa Joseph, Father Vivian D’Souza and Father Valerian Pereira put the programme together and was assisted by the students of Theology. The current module concludes on July 23.

The delegates of Education to Faith Dimension of the South Asia Region met on February 7 and 8, 2023, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Mumbai. Present for the meeting were Fr Savio Silveira, the Provincial in charge of Education to Faith Dimension, Fr Robert Simon, South Asia Delegate for Youth Ministry, Fr Sivy Koroth, Regional Coordinator and seven other coordinators from the provinces of the region. It is the second sitting of the delegates to discuss various dimensions of faith education.

On Sunday, 23 October 2022, during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Don Bosco, Lonavla, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, presented a citation to Mrs Sonali Shelke, in recognition for her social outreach among the poorest of the poor. Mrs Shelke has been on Don Bosco’s outreach staff since 2009. She resides at Bhaje village near Karla, 90 kilometers from Mumbai.

On 21 and 22 October 2022, 380 youth from across 29 Salesian institutions of the Province of Bombay participated in SYMBIOS 2022 at the Don Bosco campus in Matunga organised by the Youth Ministry Department of the Province. The theme of the event was ‘Do all through Love’. The topics that were touched upon were represented by the acronym ‘SWAG’ which stands for ‘Self, World, and God’.
