Don Bosco Dhisha, in partnership with GMR, successfully organized a Free Mobile Repair Service Camp at St. Joseph School, RTC Complex, Parvathipuram, Andhra Pradesh. The initiative showcased the technical skills acquired by Don Bosco Dhisha students while offering a valuable service to the local community.

 

On the occasion of 8th Foundation Day, Shri Bala Subramanian, District Magistrate of Kalimpong, West Bengal, honoured Don Bosco Tech Society for its impactful operations in the district. The recognition is for the outstanding contribution as an empanelled training partner under the Department of Technical Education, Training and Skill Development, Government of West Bengal. Bro. Roshan Ekka, the Principal of DB Tech Kalimpong, proudly received the recognition on behalf of the Don Bosco Tech Society.

A beautiful, modern, and well-equipped Social Work Coordination Centre for the state of Kerala and Skill Training Centre, DB Veedu, was opened in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on 26 January. A project of BREADS (Bangalore Rural Educational and Development Society) with financial assistance from JuWe, Switzerland, was inaugurated by the Provincial of the Salesians of Bangalore, Dr. Fr. Jose Koyickal, and blessed by Most Rev. Thomas Netto, Archbishop of Trivandrum.

At a prestigious event held at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai, on February 17, the World Human Resource Development (HRD) Congress honoured DB Tech with the Skill Development Leadership Award. Father George Mathew, Executive Director, received the award in recognition of successfully training 469,864 youth across 66 vocational domains in 29 states of India, with an impressive placement rate of 72%.

Don Bosco Tech inaugurated hospitality training in partnership with Marriott International and Accenture India on January 3 at Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bangalore. The training will be carried out across 11 states for 2500 women and disadvantaged youth, marking a significant milestone in bridging the skill gap in the industry. The Marriott International Area Vice President, South Asia Ranju Alex, and Ajay Vij, Senior Country Managing Director, Accenture India, graced the event.

A two-day national convention, "Skill Connect," hosted by Don Bosco Tech, aimed to foster a robust skilling network within the Don Bosco ecosystem. The convention brought together key stakeholders, including Technical Commission heads from the Salesian Provinces in India, 77 Centre In Charges, and 37 Don Bosco Tech Society staff, under the leadership of Father George Mathew, the Executive Director.

The First Mini Boscoree 2024 of the Salesian Province of Shillong, organized by the Education Commission under the leadership of Father Babu Stephen SDB, commenced with grandeur and enthusiasm at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, from December 15 to conclude on December 18. The event is a remarkable effort to foster unity, collaboration, and the Salesian spirit among regional institutions.

Don Bosco BREADS' Employment and Skill Training (DB BEST) Academy in Lingarajapuram, Bangalore, celebrated 25 batches of 1616 successfully trained youth on November 22. On this momentous milestone in their journey of empowerment, Hon. Minister for Energy and MLA of Sarvagnanagar Shri K J George, along with Extra Ordinary Visitor Father Fabio Attard, Father Jose Thomas Koyickal, Provincial, Mr. Sriranga Bhandarkar – Director, Global Head of Confirmations and Settlements- Deutsche Bank, Father Shalbin Kalancherry, Vice Provincial, Father Joy Nedumparambil, Economer, Father George PS, Executive Director BREADS, and Don Bosco BEST Academy partners felicitated the youth.

The India International Innovation and Invention Expo 2024 (INEX 2024), organized by the Indian Innovators Association in collaboration with IBS Global, Poland, under the esteemed patronage of the Goa State Innovation Council and supported by various Ministries, Industry Associations, and premier Indian Research and Development Institutes, was held at Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, Goa, India, on November 14.

Don Bosco Technical Commission continues to be a leading force in vocational education, producing over 30,000 skilled laborers annually—making it the largest private organization in India after the government in this field. This impressive feat is achieved through the combined efforts of Don Bosco’s formal ITIs and short-term courses offered by DB Tech. To strengthen and advance this mission, the leaders from technical centers across India gathered in Mumbai for a summit from Sept 27-30th for an intense study, reflection, and strategic planning. A total of 33 participants, including 27 ITI principals and several institutional heads, attended the event.

The iconic Don Bosco Skill Centre in Bengaluru, featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure, was established to deliver top-tier Training of Trainers (TOT) programs and advanced upskilling for young talents. This quarter, the vibrant campus welcomes 202 graduates from across India, specializing in Cloud Computing for IT professionals and DCOM for Electrical engineers.

Don Bosco Academy, Nerul, in collaboration with Canon, hosted a two-day free photography workshop on November 17 and 18. A basic course in photography welcomed 42 participants, aimed to nurture a love for photography and equip amateur photographers with the essential skills to embark on their creative journeys.

Don Bosco Technical Institute, Park Circus, bags the first position in the 5th Automobile Tech Fest - AUTOSPARK 2023 held at St. Aloysius ITI Mangalore from February 9 to 11, 2023, organized by SKIP (Skills for Progress) in collaboration with TATA MOTORS.
