In a gesture of appreciation and celebration, the Salesian Province of Tiruchy sponsored its domestic staff on an air pilgrimage to Goa as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
The skill of guiding others spiritually is a crucial aspect of leadership and a disposition of the heart. In response to the growing need for both initial and ongoing formation of Salesians, the Salesian Province of Trichy conducted a five-day workshop on Spiritual Direction from November 19 to 23, at Alaihal-Don Bosco, Manikandam, Trichy, animated by Father Sundar Wilson OFM. A total of 36 Salesians took part in the training.
Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem and Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, Ahmednagar, jointly organised a “Model Village Development” project on 23rd March 2023. Five villages have been selected, focusing on families of those who lost their earning members as drivers. The Cummins India Foundation (CIF), through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives (CSR), supports the project. The project aims to support the widows in those families.
The Annual day and Parents Day of Frans Schlooz School of Excellence (CBSE), Varadarajanpet, Tirchy, was held on February 25, 2023. Father Agilan Sarprasadam, Provincial of Tiruchy Province, was the chief guest. Several dignitaries, well-wishers, parents, and friends graced the occasion.
Don Bosco Tech Exhibition – 2023 and Skill Competitions were organized at Don Bosco ITI, AMSAM, N.Kuttapattu, Trichy, on March 2, 2023, to improve the practical skills in each trade. Students displayed their projects in an exhibition.
International Women's Day was celebrated on March 6, 2023, at Don Bosco Youth Village Susaipudayanpatti, Tiruchy. Eight hundred Self-Help Group members of 57 groups covering 24 villages participated in the celebration. Ramon Magsaysay award winner Mr Kulandai Francis, Founder-President, IVDP Krishnagiri, presided over the function and addressed the gathering on the importance of Self-Help Groups and the opportunities for improving the per capita income of the family through SHGs.
The translation of I Am Joseph under the title En Peyar Yoseppu, in the Tamil language, was released in Tiruchy on their Provincial Community Day held on January 21, 2023. Father John Dharmanathan of the Salesian Province of Tiruchy has translated the book.
Province Level Annual orientation Programme of the Association of the Salesian Cooperators was organized for all the local delegates and local coordinators on 26th June 2022, Sunday at the FMA Provincial House, Manikandam, Trichy. There were 48 participants, who were SDBs, FMAs and Cooperators. Fr.Agilan SDB, the Salesian Provincial of Trichy and Sr.Margaret FMA, the FMA Provincial of Trichy Province presided over the function.
