The Province Foundation Day and the Jubilee Celebrations of the Province of Tiruchy was held at Don Bosco Thanjavur on 05th August 2019. The Salesian province of Tiruchy has completed its twenty years of service to the Poor and Marginalized young people with the Slogan, `Periphery to the Centre.` At this event of the province stepping into its 21st year, the province together with the members of the Salesian Family gathered at Don Bosco Thanjavur to celebrate this event.

Rajayapuraskar Award Test Camp for the Trichy Region of Don Bosco District Association was conducted from 26 - 28 July, 2019 at Don Bosco Youth Village, Keeranur
Every year, Bharat Scouts and Guides movement of Tamil Nadu conducts a three-day selection camp for Rajyapuraskar Award. In the camp, the skills of students are evaluated under various disciplines like law, promise, salute and sign, handshake, prayer song, flag song, National Anthem, pioneering, wood graft signs, drill, first aid, distance estimation, trestle making, map making and tent pitching by the external examiners from various districts.

Severe cyclonic storm `Gaja`affected the southern part of Tamilnaduon 16 Friday. Thirteen Southern districts of Tamilnadu are severely struck and most of the poor people have lost their homes. Electricity and communication lines have been struck and damaged. It is reported that so far 17 people have lost their lives.

Father Santhanaraj from the Salesian Province of Tiruchy (INT) successfully defended his doctoral thesis on the topic: ``The Coping Patterns and Factors among Children in the post Tsunami disaster of 2004 from the Human Resource (HR) Perspective`` on 05,April,2018, at St. Joseph`s College, Thiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, working along with Dr.S.Lazar SJ the Research Advisor and Dr.P.Devanesan the Research Co-Advisor.

`Live in for YaR Centres` was held on 30th September and 1st October 2017 at Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Adivaram, in Salem. A total of 220 children participated in the two-day event. The programme started with an inaugural ceremony. The resource persons, Mr. Vaaimai Nathan and Mr. Harichandran (from Tamil Nadu Science Forum) animated the children on the theme ``Learn Science and Feel the Nature``. The first day events concluded with a campfire organized by the Brothers from Yercaud.

Sports unites everyone without any discrimination and makes everyone equal, young, dynamic and energetic. It is our privilege to conduct State Level Football Tournament in the name of our Father and Founder St. Don Bosco, together with Madurai District Football Association (MDFA) and Tamilnadu Football Association (TFA) for our youngsters. It was a weeklong football festival for the budding footballers from 23rd of May to 28th of May, 2017. It is one and only existing official State Level Tournament in Tamilnadu, conducted at a mega level by Don Bosco ITI Youth Center, Madurai.
Eighteen top teams from Tamilnadusuch as ICF Chennai, Chennai City Police, Tamilnadu Police, Chennai Youth XI, South Zone Police, Sethu FC and District A Division League toppers from Trichy, Dindigul, Pudhukottai, Kancheepuram, Ooty, Ramnad, Tuticorin, Virudhunagar andMadurai participated in this six days Football Festival.

Master Jones and Master Sheikh from Don Bosco ITI Youth Centre, Jawaharpuram, K-pudur, Madurai, have been selected to play for Tamil Nadu Under 17 football team this year. The members of the youth centre were so happy to hear the news. The two are in the main eleven of Tamil Nadu team in the Junior Nationals to be held at Chhattisgarh. Jones as striker and Sheikh as mid-fielder are groomed in the game in the Youth Centre.

Chennai (INM) and Tiruchy (INT) provinces jointly organized Youth Pasch 2017 at Don Bosco Camp Site, Yelagiri Hills, Vellore District from 13 April - 16 April 2017. 88 youth from both the Provinces participated in the Pasch. It was a joint venture to give a proper understanding and teaching of the Catholic Faith to the youth.
Fr. Antony Christy and Fr. Mani Lazar were the main animators of the programme. Fr. Parthiban, Fr. Selvakumar, Fr. Barnabas, Br. Clement and Sr. Mary Putti were in charge of the groups as the participants were divided into seven groups and they facilitated the Group living experiences of the youth. Fr. Alex, Fr. Kamalesh, Fr. Selvaraj, Fr. Francis Xavier were available for confession and spiritual guidance. Fr. Pinto celebrated the Easter Vigil Mass and baptized a youth who grew up under his spiritual guidance in his youth group at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Madurai. The baptism of the youth was a witnessing experience to the spiritual journey of the young people present for the Youth Pasch.

Father Maria Arokiam, the Regional Superior presided over the Eucharist, read the official letter of the Rector Major, Father Angel Fernandez Artime and installed the new Provincial.

A grand celebration of Youth Mela`17 was hosted for the youth of Tiruchy Province at Pastor Lenssen Polytechnic College, Kuthenkuzhi on 28, 29 January, 2017. Three Hundred youth from Salesian presences of Southern Tamilnadu gathered to celebrate their youthfulness and friendship. The theme of the celebration was ``Youth and Entrepreneurship``.

The Department of DB JANANAM (DBJ), conducted a 3-day pre-treatment motivation camp for 31 substance using adolescents in Coimbatore city from 25 to 27 January, 2017. The programme consisted of addiction awareness, counseling, and medical and psychiatric attention.

On the 8th January, 2017 a grand celebration for the youth took place in the Don Bosco Mission VEMBU at Vilathikulam. The whole day was organized independently by the Vembu Youth Federation.
Around 100 youngsters from different youth groups participated in the fest. There were six teams: Vilathai Vilathugal, Don Bosco,Keela Eral, Madhapuram, Bommayapuram and freelancers from Guruvarpatti were the participants.

On the 21st October, 2016, a one day workshop for the teachers of our Don Bosco technical institutions was organized Don Bosco Jananam on the theme: ``Understanding and assisting our boys who are coming from families with an alcoholic background``. It is found that almost 50% of our students are coming form an alcoholic family background. Besides, there are a good number of students given to abuse of tobacco in various forms including smoking, and abuse of alcohol and other substances.

Don Bosco Manigandam community organized a cricket tournament for the youth of Manikandam Union on 25 September, 2016 and distributed Prizes to the winners during the Provincial Visitation on 26 September, 2016.
