The World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2026 concluded with a glittering Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas, celebrating some of the world's finest young performers. Although India's lone finalist, Kitkupar Nongsiej from Meghalaya, did not secure the coveted title of Grand Champion Performer of the World, he emerged as one of India's brightest stars, returning home with an outstanding haul of three Gold Medals, two Bronze Medals, and the prestigious First Place Scholarship Award.

Fr. Denis Lalfela, SDB, officially assumed office as the new Director (President) of Sacred Heart Theological College (SHTC), Mawlai, on July 1. The appointment marks the beginning of a new phase in the institution's mission of forming future priests and religious for the Church.

The Archdiocese of Shillong, in collaboration with the Salesian Province of St. John Paul II, Shillong, celebrated a solemn Thanksgiving Mass at St. Dominic Savio Parish, Mawlai, to mark the declaration of Servant of God Fr. Constantine Vendrame, SDB, as Venerable, following the recent recognition of his heroic virtues by His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV.

The Salesians of Don Bosco marked a joyful and prayerful milestone at the Sunnyside Novitiate with the Vestition Ceremony, celebrated during a solemn Holy Mass. The ceremony saw 34 novices officially receive the religious habit, symbolising their deeper commitment to the Salesian way of life as they prepare for their First Profession on May 24. Among those vested were 25 novices from INS and 9 from ING. The occasion was attended by members of the Salesian community, formators, and invited guests, creating an atmosphere of faith, gratitude, and renewed dedication to religious vocation.

The campus of Don Bosco College, Byndihati, was transformed into a sanctuary of prayer and reflection from 20th March to 22nd March, during its Annual Spiritual Retreat. Guided by the scriptural theme, “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2), the event attracted 280 young people, from the college and the neighbouring villages, eager to deepen their faith. The retreat was animated by the dynamic leadership of Mr. Naveen Lobo from Mysore and the Jesus Youth team from Shillong, who together fostered an environment of high-energy worship and profound contemplation.
