Don Bosco Alumnus from India Judge Invention Convention US Nationals

Dr George Panicker, an Alumnus of Don Bosco Kolkata and Capt. Shaji Sebastian are the two Judges from India presently judging the 6th Annual Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention US Nationals concluded on May 28, 2021. The Convention is powered by The Henry Ford Competition, with more than 400 finalists from across the United States showcasing their inventions.
``Although there may be just a few who will get awards for their invention, I think every single student who goes through the process to qualify have gained and learned immensely and is truly a winner. As a qualified STEM expert and as a judge, the experience of witnessing the pride and joy within every inventor is priceless. I can`t say enough how much they amaze me,`` said Dr Panicker. ``The US Nationals 2021 judging is an incredible experience for me, particularly judging learners from K-12. The way these very young learners identify the simplest of problems using their power of observation is bewildering to me. I find this ability to think simply as their unique quality one loses with age,`` remarked Capt. Sebastian. The winners will be announced later during the awards ceremony on June 24, 2021. More than 120,000 K-12 inventors from across the globe participate in Invention Convention Worldwide programs each year. Located in Dearborn, Michigan, The Henry Ford is a globally recognized destination that fosters inspiration and 21st Century skills from hands-on experiential learning with artefacts representing the most comprehensive collection anywhere focusing on innovation, ingenuity, and resourcefulness. Educators across the US have embraced this notion and are making a wide range of inventing opportunities available in Kindergarten to class 12 schools.
