Salesian College NSS Program Officer to lead WB contingent on Republic Day

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Program Officer of Salesian College and Assistant Professor Samip Sinchuri, has been selected by the Directorate of NSS, New Delhi, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, to lead the West Bengal contingent in the prestigious Republic Day Parade Camp to be held on 26th January in New Delhi.

Mr Sinchuri who is Darjeeling District Nodal Officer is also Head of the Department of Sociology at Salesian College Autonomous Sonada. Earlier, he represented West Bengal as the contingent leader in the Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp held at Kalyani University in Kolkata from 16th to 25th November 2022.

The 74th Republic Day celebration will be very significant as the parade will be performed on the newly named Kartavya Path, which was earlier called Rajpath. The team has selected eight NSS volunteers from West Bengal. There are four female and four male volunteers selected from different colleges of West Bengal. The selected colleges from Bengal include : Basanti Devi College, Kolkata; Govt. General Degree College, Narayangarh; Banjura Zila Saradamani Mahila Mahavidyapith; Bangabasi Morning College, Kolkata; Kalipada Ghosh Tarai Mahavidyalaya, Darjeeling; Sitaram Mahato Memorial College, Puralia; Netaji Satabarshikl Mahavidyalaya and Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
