Shillong: The Technical Education Commission of St. John Paul II, Shillong Province met at Provincial House, Mathias Institute, Mawlai Shillong on the 15th June 2019. It began with a hymn to the Holy Spirit and a short prayer led by Father James Thyrniang Sdb, the Economer, followed by an exhortation from Father Paul Olphindro Lyngkot Sdb, the Provincial. In his speech, the Provincial spoke about the importance of the commission in view of the future plans of the Technical Schools. The meeting continued with discussions on various topics which was presented by Brother Reggie, the Technical Commission Co-ordinator. Some of the major topics discussed were the Directory of the Technical Schools of INS, logo, Anthem, Mission and Vision statement, centralization of uniforms, notebooks, school bags, etc.
Later, there was a sharing of ideas from different institutions with regards to the training and production carried in their respective institution. Some line of actions like; Logo and Anthem to be ready for the finalization by 30th June 2019, Finalizing of our Technical School Directory and preparation of the first draft of the Syllabus by 27th July 2019 in the meeting to be held at DBTS together with some of the senior staffs from different technical schools of our province, To release the Don Bosco Technical education Directory on 16th August - the birthday of Don Bosco were taken during the meeting. The meeting ended with a prayer and a hymn to Don Bosco.
