Dhisha & YES-J Youth Centre Empower Vijayawada’s Youth with Career Opportunities

Don Bosco Dhisha, Vijayawada Region, in collaboration with the YES-J Youth Centre, successfully organized a Job Fair that connected 55 young job seekers with 15 recruiting companies. The initiative created a vital platform for employment and career development, resulting in 17 candidates securing job placements and 18 others being shortlisted for further recruitment processes.

Reinforcing its mission to promote decent work and sustainable livelihoods for youth, Don Bosco Dhisha partnered with the YES-J Youth Centre to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers. The event featured companies from diverse sectors, offering opportunities to candidates with varied educational backgrounds and skill sets. The strong turnout highlighted the growing demand for employment support and career guidance among young people in Vijayawada.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Rev. Fr. Vijay Prabhu, Chief Guest, who encouraged the participants to remain proactive in their career journey. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of continuous learning, skill enhancement, and perseverance in achieving professional success.

Rev. Fr. Jeevan, SDB, Regional Director of Don Bosco Dhisha, Vijayawada Region, motivated the candidates to approach every opportunity with confidence and determination. He highlighted the role of Don Bosco Dhisha in accompanying young people through career guidance, skill development, and job placement services, especially for those from vulnerable and marginalized backgrounds.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Joshua Leyander, JPN Programme Coordinator, presented the services of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network (DB JPN). He explained how the network supports youth through career counselling, employability training, job referrals, and placement assistance, helping them secure dignified and sustainable employment.

The successful conduct of the Job Fair reflects the commitment of Don Bosco Dhisha and the Don Bosco Job Placement Network to empowering youth through employment-focused initiatives. By connecting young people with potential employers and providing access to career opportunities, the programme contributed significantly to enhancing employability, promoting self-reliance, and fostering sustainable livelihoods among the youth of Andhra Pradesh.
