Don Bosco Dhisha – Career Guidance and Job Placement Services, Vijayawada, organised a Job Fair at Maris Stella College, Vijayawada, on 19 December, bringing together employers and registered job seekers to generate immediate and potential employment opportunities for young people. The initiative formed part of Don Bosco Dhisha’s ongoing mission to promote career guidance and dignified livelihoods for youth in the region.

The job fair saw strong participation, with 611 candidates registering in advance and 384 walk-in job seekers. A total of 22 companies participated in the recruitment process, representing diverse sectors of employment. The outcomes reflected the initiative's effectiveness: 87 candidates were selected, 206 were shortlisted for subsequent rounds, and 70 received on-the-spot offer letters.
 
Don Bosco Dhisha – Career Guidance and Job Placement Services continues to address unemployment in the Vijayawada region by directly connecting employers with job seekers. Its integrated approach focuses on strengthening employability skills, offering structured career guidance, improving access to job information, and providing post-placement support to enhance workplace retention. These efforts help bridge the gap between young job seekers' capabilities and employers' expectations, contributing to sustainable local employment outcomes.
 
The event was graced by Fr. Balaraju SDB, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Fr. Showry SDB, Administrator, and Sr. Innayasamma, Principal of Maris Stella College.
 
The job fair was organised under the leadership of Fr. Sarath SDB, Director of Bosco Seva Kendra; Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director of Don Bosco Job Placement Network; Fr. Jeevan SDB, Regional Director, Vijayawada; and Fr. Justin SDB, Regional Director, Telangana. Overall coordination was efficiently managed by Mr. Harish, Project Manager, JPN, with support from Mr. Sagar Raju and Mr. Teja, Coordinators from the Hyderabad Province.
 
The collective efforts of Salesian leadership, coordinators, recruiters, and institutional partners ensured the programme's smooth conduct. The job fair concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the commitment of Don Bosco Dhisha and JPN to youth empowerment through meaningful and dignified employment inspired by the vision of St. John Bosco.
