The Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, concluded a two-day Salesian Missionary Symposium on May 30, marking the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition (1875–2025). Held under the theme “Remembering the Past, Renewing the Present, Reimagining the Future,” the symposium brought together Salesians and religious to reflect on the Church’s missionary legacy and explore new avenues for evangelisation in Northeast India.

In the rich yet underexplored biodiversity of Northeast India, a new species of fossorial reed snake has been discovered in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya. The species, named Calamaria garoensis (Garo Hills Reed Snake), has been formally described in the internationally reputed peer-reviewed journal Taprobanica.

Bosco Reach Out (BRO) implemented the Strategic Action for Flood Emergency (SAFE) Project in the Mayang Development Block of Morigaon District, Assam, from October 2025 with funding support from United Parcel Service (UPS) through BoscoNet, New Delhi. The initiative covered Niz Chaharia and Gagalmari Gaon Panchayats and reached 12 villages through various disaster preparedness activities.
