Seven Hundred Youth participated in the day long programme. The coveted prize for the most disciplined youth center went to Upper Balasun Youth Centre which recently held its golden jubilee. Sonada Parish youth bagged the Best Youth Center award for their overall performance at Bosco Utsav 2018. ``It has been a tradition for SCS to enhance the local youths by giving them a platform to exhibit their talents in a competitive setting with their fellow youths from other centers,`` says leader of the registration team Br Tushar Gomes managing the college entrance. ``The whole campus looked like Valdocco the first oratory of Don Bosco,`` said one of the event officials Br Sentu Biswas. Br Sentu added, ``This also provided young people opportunity to make new friends and come to know many more youths of from other locality.`` Rector of the Post Novitiate Formation community Father James Chacko inaugurated the Utsav after which Br Silas Lepcha explained the rules and regulations of the fest. Some 70 Brothers, plus some 20 SCS student volunteers and another 20 faculty members were allotted with shared responsibilities to conduct 20 events both for boys and girls. The events were mini football, volley ball, throw ball, fashion show, fancy dress, mister /miss youth center, badminton, carrom, ludo, art exhibition, western, cultural and solo dance, quiz, poem recitation, essay writing, extemporary speech, and solo singing. The events were held at three levels of the campus as well as in several class rooms, verandah and auditoriums. After lunch break during which the participants were served hot meals, the particpants gathered in the College auditorium for prize distribution ceremony where judges for the various events were felicitated with khada, and memento. The winners of the various events received trophies, medals and certificates.
