Job Utsav 2026 Connects Youth with Industry
News reported by: Angello Mascarenhas
Don Bosco Avsar Chinchwad, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pimpri Town, successfully hosted Job Utsav 2026 on April 11 at Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Chinchwad. The recruitment drive connected skilled youth with top employers in the automobile and manufacturing sectors and offered employment prospects in the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial hub.
The event drew around 150 candidates, including fresh ITI graduates, diploma holders, and entry-level aspirants equipped with hands-on technical skills. Twenty-four leading companies participated, conducting on-the-spot interviews that offered immediate job opportunities. From welding technicians to automotive assemblers, candidates showcased their expertise through practical assessments and skill demonstrations, while recruiters evaluated talent for roles in production, quality control, and maintenance.
At its core, Job Utsav 2026 aimed to narrow the skill-employment gap in a region powering India's manufacturing boom. Interactive sessions allowed job seekers to highlight certifications in CNC machining, EV assembly, and refrigeration—key areas aligned with Don Bosco ITI's vocational programs. Employers, including giants from Pimpri's auto cluster, appreciated the ready pool of trained youth, fostering direct hires and internships.
The occasion was attended by the esteemed dignitaries: Rtn. Anita Sharma, President of the Rotary Club of Pimpri Town; Fr Anton D’Souza, Director of Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad; Mr Nilesh Chandgude, Principal of Don Bosco ITI Chinchwad; and Kenneth Saldanha from Don Bosco ITI Kurla. Their insights during the inaugural address emphasised the importance of collaborative ecosystems for youth empowerment, blending education, industry, and community service.
Don Bosco Avsar Chinchwad's placement cell orchestrated the event flawlessly, managing registrations, venue logistics, and follow-up placements. The Rotary partnership expanded outreach, drawing diverse employers and ensuring inclusive participation.
