Established on 9 July 2010 under the leadership of Fr Anaclete D'Mello, the Former Economer of the Mumbai Province, Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha has grown from its modest beginnings into a vibrant centre of education, skills training, and social outreach. The new facilities provide a permanent base to expand programmes, strengthening support for tribal youth, women, and vulnerable families in the region.

The residence and social action office were inaugurated by Fr Anaclete D'Mello and Fr Edwin D'Souza and blessed by Fr Ashley Miranda, Provincial of the Salesian Mumbai Province. The ceremony was attended by Provincial Councillors, Salesians, youth, benefactors, and members of the local community.

At the heart of the campus is the Don Bosco Industrial Training Institute (ITI), which offers diploma programmes in Electric Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical, Welding, Automobile, and Computer Programming. The institute also provides residential facilities for students, enabling young people from remote tribal villages to pursue technical education. Approximately 40 trainees graduate annually, with many securing employment at reputable manufacturing companies, thereby linking training to employment outcomes.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Ashley Miranda commended the Salesian community for its commitment to the holistic development of tribal youth. He appreciated the leadership of Fr Jesu Robinson, Rector; Fr Monty Rodrigues, Principal of the ITI; Fr Francis Fernandes, Administrator; and the institute's staff for their dedicated service. He expressed hope that the expanded facilities would strengthen the institution's educational and social outreach in the region.

Fr Anaclete D'Mello, Fr Robert Pen, Vice Provincial of the Mumbai Province, Fr Jesu Robinson, Fr Francis Fernandes, and Fr Monty Rodrigues also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the institution's journey over the past 16 years and reaffirming its mission of empowering the Warli community through education, skill development, and social transformation.
