Nepal Don Bosco Society Empowers Teachers

News written by: Fr Augusty Pulickal
To provide quality education to the students of the government schools, the Nepal Don Bosco Society (NDBS) organized a Teacher Training Programme at Manthali, a prominent central city, about 170 Km away from Kathmandu from February 24, 2022. The training lasted for three days for 31 teachers from ten schools.
The Nepal Don Bosco Society, with its credibility of having provided the Government of Nepal ten reconstructed schools in four districts after the devastating earthquakes of 2015, organized the training as part of the capacity building programme. The Training program consisted of sessions taken by a team of resource persons like Father Stephen Biswakarma SDB, the Principal of the Higher Secondary Section of Nepal Don Bosco School at Sidhipur-Lubhu. They shared their life experiences in the proper care of school students. The participants attended the sessions with eagerness as the education sector of Nepal is revamping its policies and strategies to cater to the holistic formation of the students. The topics of the training were ``The Child-Friendly Teaching``, ``The Best Practices of the Schools``, ``The Personality of the Teacher``, ``The Media impact on students` life``, and ``Back to Nature``. The thought-provoking messages given at the occasion by Mr Hemanta Budathoki, the Chief Guest and the Education Officer of the Manthali Municipality and others, and the frequent interaction by the organizing team headed by Father Augusty Pulickal SDB, the NDBS Director, were appreciated by the participants. 20 Salesians working in nine centres in the Eastern, Central and Far Western regions of Nepal offer a host of relief and recovery programmes in the post-earthquake days, along with the Congregation`s engagement to provide quality and value-based academic and technical education in the country.
