Kids Find Their Footing at Football Fiesta
Cheers, whistles and the thud of leather on turf filled the air as Karimadam and MSK colonies staged a one-day football tournament that turned two neighbouring housing blocks into a miniature stadium.
Organized under the banner “Kicking Off Dreams, Building Teamwork,” the event drew dozens of children who were split into three evenly matched sides for both boys and girls.
From the opening whistle, the quality of play belied the players’ ages. Quick one-touch passing, well-timed tackles and choreographed corner routines kept spectators—mostly proud parents and curious neighbours—on edge. “They’re playing like little pros,” beamed Fr Jiji, Rector of Don Bosco Veedu. “All they needed was a platform,” he said.
The final whistle blew at 3 p.m., but the energy lingered long after medals were handed out and team photos snapped. It was a fantastic experience that promoted physical activity, camaraderie, and healthy competition among the children.
