Don Bosco Alumni felicitate Liluah community
Don Bosco School Liluah Alumni marking the 55th year of the School Alumni Association, held their first post-Corona reunion on 15th January 2023. Some 650 past students attended the mega event.
Besides felicitating Salesians of the Liluah community Kolkata, the nine past rectors and principals were felicitated during a six-hour evening programme. The alumnus from various parts of India and abroad visited new facilities and assembly hall, to be addressed by Principal Fr Manoj Jose and Rector Fr Davis Velyian. The President of the School Alumni Association Biswanath Trivedi was the anchor.
South Asia Salesian Family delegate Fr Joseph Manipadam and Provincial in-charge of Salesian Family Fr Joseph Pauria, both from Kolkata province, were present. Provincial thanked the past pupils for running a free night school for underprivileged children up to class 8 in the same school premises and conducting free weekly medical camps. He also thanked them for assisting rural schools in the province, particularly Don Bosco Polsondamore in the Murshidabad district.
The crowd puller of the evening was a performance by 2003 batch Bollywood playback singer Samrat Sarkar and Band. The school, established in 1938, has both a high school and a technical school. The Alumni Association, established in 1967, has over 1,000 registered members.
