Father Santiagu Installed as Provincial of Hyderabad; Dawns New Era of Change, Growth and Transformation

February 5, 2022, is marked as a day of blessing for the Salesian Province of Hyderabad as Father Santiagu Thomas was installed as the Provincial for six years in the presence of Father Biju Michael, the General Councillor for South Asia.

Father Santiagu, the 6th Provincial of the Province, made the profession of faith and took the oath of fidelity during the Holy Eucharistic celebration. In his maiden speech, he encouraged everyone to be grateful to the Lord for His active presence in each one`s lives and to work as His co-partners in spreading His love, according to the style and charism of Don Bosco. The Province of Hyderabad is thankful to the Lord for blessing them with a young, vibrant and convinced leader and looks forward to a new era of change, growth and transformation for the integral development of young people. Father Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the outgoing Provincial, was thanked for his yeoman service in the past six years in a function organized after the installation ceremony. Father Santiagu, the newly installed Provincial, was welcomed and assured of support and collaboration by the Salesians of the Province. The ceremony had the presence of fellow confreres of the Province, confreres from Bangalore, Chennai and Tiruchy Provinces, members of the Salesian Family, dear and near ones of the Provincial, well-wishers, friends and young people.
