Don Bosco Childline Organises COVID-19 Awareness on Delhi Streets

Don Bosco Childline, New Delhi organized a social awareness programme on COVID-19 on the streets of Delhi on 29 May, 2020. The resource persons informed the local people about the origin, transmission, symptoms and prevention of COVID-19.
Everyone across the country is interested in the end of teh COVID-19 lockdown restrictions and of the global pandemic. However, assessing the end dates is obviously tough due to the ambiguity of the future, as a result of the complex, dynamic and heterogeneous nature of the world we live in and the infectious disease being lived through. COVID-19, like any other pandemic, will follow a life cycle pattern which includes the initial outbreak, acceleration stage, infection phase, deceleration and eventual ending. Therefore, it is important to disseminate accurate information, keep the mood positive and also counter misinformation. Don Bosco Childline Coordinator Sakshi, along with Chandni, advised the children and adults to wash their hands regularly, use masks, maintain cleanliness and keep social distance. The session reduced the anxiety of those present about COVID-19. The local people were happy to receive food provisions and masks after the session.
