North Bengal’s Biggest Youth Fest Lights Up Oodlabari

From dawn till dusk, Don Bosco School Oodlabari campus pulsed with colour, rhythm, and youthful energy as one of North Bengal’s largest inter‑school gatherings unfolded on 9 May 2026, bringing together talent, creativity, and spirited competition under one roof.
This year’s festival, Bosco Fizza 3rd edition, united 20 schools from across the plains and hills of North Bengal, stretching from Islampur in Uttar Dinajpur to Jaigaon on the Bhutan border, and including institutions from Kalimpong and Darjeeling hill districts. A record 1,403 participants competed in 23 diverse events, held simultaneously across 20 venues, making the celebration a landmark in the region’s youth calendar.
The field events featured basketball, volleyball, and football matches, with spirited participation from both boys’ and girls’ teams, totalling 29. Indoors, the atmosphere was equally electric, with chess, debate, quiz, drawing, painting, cultural performances, songs, dances, poetry recitations, and the ever‑popular Battle of Bands. Adding to the creative spirit were competitions in photography, short films, start‑up ideas, science exhibitions, and the innovative “Trash to Treasure” showcase, all of which highlighted the diverse talents of the participants.
Behind the seamless execution of the fest stood a dedicated force of 300 student volunteers. They formed the backbone of the event, taking charge of everything from mobilising schools to managing indoor and outdoor competitions. The technical team prepared promo videos and posters, while others coordinated debates, robotics, and contests in song, dance, and sports. Their tireless efforts ensured that every event ran smoothly, reflecting both creativity and discipline.
The day‑long celebration was not only a platform for competition but also a meeting ground for schools across North Bengal, strengthening bonds between institutions and offering young people a chance to shine beyond their classrooms. Bosco Fizza reaffirms Don Bosco Oodlabari’s role as a hub of youthful creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
