News reported by: Selvakumar

Don Bosco School, Thanjavur, marked a milestone in its educational journey on March 23, 2026, with the inauguration of the Orell AI-Driven English Language Lab. Blessed and formally opened by Rev. Fr. Doss Kennedy SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Trichy, the Rs. 30 lakh project represents a transformative step in enhancing language proficiency and empowering students with cutting-edge, CEFR-aligned learning tools. Designed to benefit both learners and educators, the initiative underscores the institution’s commitment to innovation, value-based education, and holistic development in preparing confident global citizens.

This new initiative is a major step in strengthening the school’s commitment to educational quality and student empowerment. The language lab has been developed to provide a high-quality English learning experience in line with CEFR standards. With the help of advanced AI technology, students will be able to improve their language proficiency through a more personalized, engaging, and interactive mode of learning.

The lab is not only meant for students but will also contribute to teacher training and support, helping the entire school community to grow together in academic excellence. In this way, the institution continues to respond creatively to the educational needs of today’s world.

The project, valued at Rs. 30 lakh, became possible thanks to the generous support of past pupils, teachers, Salesian cooperators, friends of Don Bosco, well-wishers, and South Indian Bank. The school gratefully acknowledged all those whose encouragement and contribution helped bring this valuable project to fruition.

The opening of the Orell AI-Driven English Language Lab highlights Don Bosco School’s continuing effort to combine innovation, value-based education, and holistic development, enabling young people to become confident communicators and responsible global citizens.
