The Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, conducted its Tri-Monthly Recollection for clerics and brothers on March 21–22 at the Provincial House, Panbazar, bringing together 51 young Salesians for a period of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

Centred on the theme “Remain in My Love (Jn 15:9): Fidelity in Our Vocation,” the recollection aimed to deepen participants’ commitment to their Salesian calling. The programme was animated by Koitharaputhenpura Thomas John, who guided the young confreres through moments of introspection and encouraged them to remain rooted in Christ’s love in their vocational journey.

The first session, led by Joseph Thelekatt, explored the theme “Getting Stuck in the Negatives.” The session invited participants to move beyond limiting perspectives and recognise the inner processes that guide personal transformation. The day also included a recollection talk by Fr. Thomas John, Eucharistic adoration, confessions, and a common evening prayer led by the clerics themselves.

The day concluded with the rosary and a “good night talk” by Sebastian Kurichel, Provincial. In his address, he emphasised that the tri-monthly recollection serves as a moment of unity and shared prayer. Acknowledging the imperfections of community life, he highlighted each confrere's role in fostering healthy relationships within the community. He also stressed the importance of personal responsibility in fulfilling the mission entrusted to each member.

Fr. Kurichel further underscored the centrality of Christ in community life, noting that many challenges arise when Christ is not at the centre. He reminded participants that Christ is the head of the community and that fidelity to His teachings leads to fullness of life.

The second day began with personal prayer and Lectio Divina on the theme “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch” (Lk 5:1–11), followed by the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Kurichel. The programme continued with a series of formative sessions, including Session II by Bivan R Mukhim, Vice Provincial, on “Growing as a Salesian Leader.” This was followed by Session III by Romanus Barwa on “Guidelines for Salesian Etiquette.”

A group dynamics session led by Fr. Mukhim on “Living the Salesian Identity Today” further engaged participants, helping them internalise the values of their vocation in a practical, community-oriented way.

The recollection concluded with participants expressing a renewed sense of spiritual enrichment and commitment, reaffirming their dedication to living their Salesian vocation with fidelity and authenticity.
