Salesian Students Launch LuvlyU to Inspire Confidence Among Peers

News reported by: Fr C M Paul SDB

A student team of Salesian College (Autonomous), Siliguri, has launched LuvlyU — Love, Understand and Value Yourself as You Are — a digital platform designed to help young people reconnect with their inner spark and confidently share their authentic selves. The initiative was created by M.Sc Psychology student Anand Kumar and RadioClub members.

Anand said the idea grew out of observing how many young people struggle with self‑judgment, comparison, and the constant pressure to prove themselves. “We believe every person carries a unique spark meant for the world,” Kumar explained at the launch. “But constant self‑criticism and comparison often silence that spark. LuvlyU is about helping people reconnect with who they truly are and share their gifts with confidence.”

The platform currently offers more than 50 guided video sessions across eight transformational modules, supported by interactive reflection games, prompts, and activities. The modules cover themes such as Self‑Worth, Influences That Shape You, Discover Yourself, Mindset and Mental Safety, Emotional Healing and Resilience, Communication and Boundaries, Positive Self‑Image, and Living Authentic.

A key feature of LuvlyU is its interactive reflection games, which turn personal growth into an engaging experience. Instead of passively consuming content, users respond to prompts and guided activities that encourage reflection on questions like: How healthy is my communication style? What emotions do I often overlook? What beliefs about myself might be holding me back?

Faculty members welcomed the initiative. “In a time when students often face constant comparison and pressure, initiatives like LuvlyU encourage them to reconnect with their authentic selves,” said Psychology HoD Sagarika Roy.

The creators hope the platform will grow into a community‑driven movement that inspires young people to embrace their individuality and confidently share their talents with the world.
