Don Bosco School, Pinapaka–Wyra, marked a significant milestone on 23 February with the inauguration of the extension of the first floor of its school building, strengthening its infrastructure to meet the growing educational needs of the region.

The programme commenced with the formal inaugural ceremony, which included the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, ribbon cutting, and the symbolic inauguration of the newly constructed block. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, school leadership, benefactors, staff members, and well-wishers.

Mr Reinhard Heiserer, CEO of Jugend Eine Welt, Austria, inaugurated the extension. The event also acknowledged the generous support of the Upper Austrian Government, DKFM Dr Helga Müller, Missioni Don Bosco (Turin, Italy), Diocese of Passau (Germany), and Don Bosco Mission (Bonn, Germany), whose collaboration made the expansion possible.

Following the inaugural ceremony, a felicitation and cultural programme was held. Fr. Thomas Santiagu, SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, along with other dignitaries, including Fr. G. Kishore (Vice Provincial), Fr. Noel (Director, Don Bosco Life, Resource Mission & BIRDY), and Mr Rambabu (Engineer & Contractor), were honoured in recognition of their leadership and contribution to the project.

During the message session, speakers highlighted the importance of strengthening educational infrastructure in rural communities. They emphasised that well-equipped learning spaces are essential for improving academic outcomes, encouraging student participation, and ensuring holistic development.

Students actively participated in the celebration through cultural performances, including welcome dances by students of Classes IX, VIII, VII, and VI. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by fellowship.

The newly constructed first-floor extension provides additional classrooms and improved learning facilities, enabling the school to serve its expanding student community better. This development reflects Don Bosco School, Pinapaka’s continued commitment to enhancing access to quality education in the region
