Amidst the devastation caused by relentless monsoon rains and flash floods in Maharashtra, Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK), in collaboration with Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT), extended vital relief to flood-affected families in Osmanabad district.

On September 28, grocery kits were distributed to 1,000 families across 18 villages in Dharashiv and Kalamb blocks, providing immediate assistance to those grappling with food insecurity and displacement. The monsoon floods, which also battered Ahmednagar, Solapur, Latur, and Sangli, have destroyed crops, livestock, homes, and infrastructure, leaving thousands homeless and farmers facing the compounded burden of drought and flood.

The relief operation was meticulously prepared a day in advance. Trucks carrying provisions arrived at BGVK’s Kedgaon campus, where staff, volunteers, and college students worked overnight to pack and seal the kits. Each kit contained essential food supplies designed to meet urgent household needs.

Despite the challenge of reaching remote villages cut off by waterlogging, the distribution was carried out smoothly in partnership with TPCDT and local volunteers. The relief materials were handed over directly to families to ensure both transparency and dignity in the process.

Grateful villagers expressed their appreciation to TPCDT and BGVK for their timely intervention during a time of hardship. The initiative not only provided immediate relief but also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in responding to natural disasters.
